Week 13 – Start ‘em or Sit ‘em

Start ‘em

Russell Wilson (Seahawks):

Wilson has been on fire in recent weeks, guiding the Seahawks to back to back wins against quality opposition. This week he takes on a weak 49ers defense. Expect big things from the QB with his team chasing a wildcard berth.

Prediction: 300+ yards, three touchdowns.

Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs):

Mahomes and Chiefs are coming off the bye to face one of the worst defenses in all football, the Raiders. He will be free and looking to push on for top spot in the AFC. This will be a huge scoring game for the Chiefs.

Prediction: 400+ yards, five touchdowns, one rushed touchdown.

Wide Receivers

Tyler Lockett (Seahawks):

Lockett faces a poor 49ers defense after coming off huge games in week 11 and 12. He has really stamped his authority as the number one receiver in Seattle. He will run amok against the 49ers. Expect a huge day out for Lockett.

Prediction: 12 catches for 150+ yards, one touchdown

Emmanuel Sanders (Broncos):

Sanders came up big against his former team last week. This week he faces the Bengals who allow more points for wide receivers than any other team in the league. Sanders will go big this week.

Prediction: 10 catches for 100+ yards, one touchdown

Running Backs

Lamar Miller (Texans):

Last week Miller ran for nearly 200 yards and scored two incredible touchdowns from range. He has been growing week on week and will have a field day this week against the Browns defense. Consider him as a flex or RB2.

Prediction: 10 carries for 100+ yards, one touchdown.

Aaron Jones (Packers):

Jones has been a revelation for the Packers this season. He has scored regular fantasy points and that won’t change this week against the Cardinals. Expect Jones to open up the Cardinals line on nearly every run.

Prediction: 15 carries for 120+ yards, two touchdowns.

Tight ends

Jared Cook (Raiders):

Despite the Raiders struggles, Cook ranks in the top five tight ends in fantasy this season. Throw in the fact he has scored a touchdown in his last two games and he is a lock of the week. This week he plays the Chiefs which allow the most points for opposition tight ends in the league.

Prediction: 10 catches for 100+ yards, one touchdown.

Travis Kelce (Chiefs):

Kelce will have multiple receptions in this one. After the bye week, the Chiefs play the Raiders in what will be a very one-sided affair. This game will get ugly. Quickly. Expect Kelce to get the ball a lot.

Prediction: 12 catches for 100+ yards, one touchdown

Sit’ em

Carson Wentz (Eagles):

Wentz is in a tough matchup this week. The Eagles are desperate for a win to help rebuild their season, but they face a tough Redskins team who won’t give you anything for free. This will be a challenge for the defending champs.  Best to stay away from Carson.

Prediction: 150 yards, one touchdown, one intercept.

Drew Brees (Saints):

Yes, I know he is on fire this season. Has won 10 games straight and scored 38 points per game in that time, but he hasn’t faced a defense as good as Dallas.

This will be a real challenge for Brees. I would steer clear of him. For just one week.

Prediction: 150 yards, one touchdown, one intercept.

Wide Receivers

Sterling Shepard (Giants):

In recent weeks, Shepard has fallen down the peaking order in New York. This week they play a Bears defense who hurt people for fun. Shepard will not be targeted a lot, and when he does, he will be hurt.

Prediction: Two catches for 25 yards.

Jarvis Landry (Browns):

Landry has been out of favour with new QB Baker Mayfield. He is struggling for fantasy points in recent weeks and we can expect that trend to continue this week against a tough Texans defense. Best to sit Landry this week and for the foreseeable future.

Prediction: Two catches for 15 yards.

Running Backs

Adrian Peterson (Redskins):

The guy who lit the league up in the opening weeks is starting to show his age. He has a terrible line in front of him and is struggling to get yards on every carry. Its not a good time to be a running back in Washington. Stay away from AD.

Prediction: 10 carries for 25 yards.

Isaiah Crowell (Jets):

Crowell carried just six times last week for 30 yards in the loss to the Patriots. This is starting to become the norm for him. His lack of ball and production is concerning. Sat away from him this week, the Jets play an unpredictable Titans side.

Prediction: 5 carries for 30 yards.

Tight Ends

Greg Olsen (Panthers):

For the third week in a row, Olsen went missing on the Panthers offense. He is in a downward spiral that doesn’t seem to be ending soon. He is simply not being targeted by Cam Newton. Best to stay away from Olsen.

Prediction: Two catches for 10 yards.

Jimmy Graham (Packers):

There is a growing question in the football world that Jimmy Graham is done as a player. This could be the worst signing in Packers history. Do not pick Graham in your side this week or next or the rest of the season for that matter. He is terrible.

Prediction: None.
