Welcome to today’s MLB FanCave Full Look, covering the main slate on Fanduel starting at 7:05 PM ET. This full look will target this 7-game slate as a whole. I will highlight my top pitchers, one for cash games and one for GPP, followed by my top stacks, and my favorite value bats that I will be building my lineups around. Before we get to our breakdown, I want to take a minute to drop a little ad for our Discord app chat.

We really have a great collaboration of minds in our discord app chat covering all sports at all times. Ask any of our experts a question regarding your lineups at any point of the day and we will respond as soon as we can. We all do have lives besides this however, so please understand that your questions will be answered at our earliest possible convenience. Also new at FanCave, is our currently free for MLB optimizer. It is still in the works, upgrades are being constantly, and the site is going through improvements daily as we gear up for the NFL season. There will be some imperfections along the way, but for the most part, it kicks out some pretty solid projections and lineups. It is really easy to navigate, and again, it will be FREE for MLB for the rest of the season. Try it out now, then get ready for NFL. The optimizer is found on our partners website. What is up FanCave brethren?!?!? I am finally back after a fantastic 10-day vacation to the East Coast. It was nice to get away from DFS for the most part and recharge my batteries a bit. I’ve been going pretty hard the last couple of months, and hit a little cold streak there after my nice week a couple of weeks ago. I was able to sit down for a bit and realize what I was doing wrong, and I am going to get back to what works, and finish out MLB strong. With that said, let’s get right to it and break down this slate.

Top Pitchers:

Gerrit Cole – Houston Astros – $10,800

It actually was not a very hard decision for me that Cole would be my top pick today. Masahiro Tanaka is getting some love around the industry for cash games, but in my opinion, he does not present the upside for his price tag. Patrick Corbin is the highest priced option on the slate at $11,100. He could pay off that salary as he faces the Giants in San Francisco, but Cole just feels a bit more safe today when you look at how he has pitched against tonight’s opponent, the Oakland Athletics.

Cole has faced the A’s four times this season, and comes in with an ERA under 2.80 and 226 strikeouts. The A’s bats have been kind of hot as of late, but Cole’s numbers here are also easy to notice. I don’t know what is more impressive. The fact that Cole has three 50 FDP games against the A’s, or the fact that he is averaging 53 FDP in his two home games against them. Cole has gone over 30 FDP just once in his last four starts, but his one over 30 was a dominant 61 FDP performance, in which he looked like early season Gerrit Cole. I think he breaks his mini-slump here tonight and goes for somewhere around 45 FDP.

Tournaments (GPP):

Jon Gray – Colorado Rockies – $8,900

My top tournament pitcher today is a guy we always look to target away from home. Gray does not have the best match-up tonight as the Rockies head in to Anaheim, but this should only lower his ownership. The Angels have Mike Trout back off of the DL, making this lineup much more potent. However, Gray has averaged 44.33 FDP per road start in his last three. While the Angels are a tough opponent, Gray did face some stiff competition in those road games. They were against the Braves, Cardinals and Brewers, and Gray went seven innings or more in each of them. The price point seems great for a guy who should get you a minimum of 40 FDP in this spot.

***Bonus Cheap GPP Flyer – Sam Gaviglio – Toronto Blue Jays $7,300***

Top Stacks:

Arizona Diamondbacks – (1B -Paul Goldschmidt $4,500, OF – David Peralta $4,100, 3B – Eduardo Escobar $3,800, UTIL – Alex Avila $2,400)

Instead of picking the chalkier Yankees or Cubs stacks tonight, let’s mix it up a bit, and talk about the Diamondbacks. Goldschmidt is the must-have of this bunch, as he has is one of the better BvP selections on the slate today, with his three career home runs off of Giants starter Chris Stratton. Stratton has been terrible with an ERA over 5.00, and just got shelled by this Diamondbacks team two starts ago. He was lit up for 10 hits in three innings, and allowed six earned runs while also walking four. I love this 2-4 stack here, with Avila for value rounding it out at the bottom for GPP play.

Toronto Blue Jays – (OF – Billy McKinney $2,800, 1B – Kendrys Morales $4,100, OF – Randal Grichuk $2,700, SS – Aledmys Diaz $3,200)

Saying McKinney and Morales are red hot is an understatement. Never thought I would see a day Morales is over $4K, and would say he is still a viable play. The streak is now at seven straight games with a home run, and eight total in that span. McKinney also continues to rake, as he has hit three home runs in the last five games, while bringing his average up to .370. I like Grichuk to save a bit for other bats, but there are other outfielders I also like at this price point. This may be a sneaky low owned GPP stack tonight, with potential to put up a bunch of runs against Orioles right-hander David Hess.

Top Value Bats:

1B – Luke Voit – New York Yankees – $2,000

Not sure why he is still minimum price, but we are really never sure what Fanduel is thinking. Tonight, Voit will hit clean-up against White Sox lefty Carlos Rodon. He had his second massive game in his last three, as he homered again, and finished with 34.4 FDP. He comes in as pretty much a lock today in all formats. The Yankees are another team we want a lot of exposure to. Rodon is a decent pitcher so my expectations are tempered a bit, but I will have shares of Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Hicks as well.

SS – Amed Rosario – New York Mets – $2,900

Rosario is kind of hit or miss, but never a better day than today to attack. The Mets travel to the windy city, where the winds are blowing out hard at Wrigley Field, and Jon Lester will be on the hill for the Cubs. The ceiling on Rosario is amazing, as it was just a couple of weeks ago he eclipsed 50 FDP. Since that huge game, he has posted four zero’s in 10 games, and has hit double-digit FDP in four games as well. At still under $3K and likely in the lead off spot this is another no-brainer for cash games tonight.

OF – Jason Heyward – Chicago Cubs – $2,500

Definitely want some Cubs exposure tonight, as again we are getting these massive winds at Wrigley. Noah Syndergaard is not a pitcher I usually target against, but he has been just average for the last month or so. With these conditions, and the fact that the Cubs bats are coming around, Heyward could come in as a great value at this price tag. He is coming off of a 4-for-4 game yesterday, in which he tripled, and amassed 34.6 FDP. Another cash lock for me today.
