WNBA DFS Breakdown: 6/22 **MASSIVE Slate** (Guards)

WE HAVE A 6 GAME SLATE IN THE WNBA! The NBA draft caused a small pause in the WNBA world, which means ALL the teams in the league will take the court today. We have a lot to break down so let’s get right into it! People seem to love the position by position so we will continue to rock that format! As always, we will be using Fanduel pricing so make sure you adjust accordingly if you are utilizing Draftkings!

Skylar Diggins-Smith ($8,000) – SDS comes in as the top-priced guard on the slate. She gets a tough matchup vs. LA. LA is the very best at defending guards, but SDS always has upside. I would not touch her at all with a ten foot pole in cash games, but this will be a very low owned spot for her. There is no doubt this is a tough spot for her, but her proven upside makes her a nice, low owned GPP Stud.

Diana Taurasi ($7,400) – Taurasi has had an incredible month and scoring the basketball with extreme efficiency. If I can fit her in for cash I certainly have no problem playing her. She has shown a great floor. She has expanded her game to include more assists and rebounds than in previous years as well. She is the top pay-up guard on the slate!

Kayla Mcbride ($5,600) – I was wondering when fanduel was going to catch on and realize they were extremely underpricing my girl! They did. So she’s not the value play she was just a week ago, but I still believe she’s viable. She has an awesome floor and will be in a close, competitve match up against NY tonight. She is viable in all formats.

Kristi Toliver ($5,100) – Unfortunately for ownership purposes this play is very, very simple. Toliver will be high owned and there’s just no way around it. Chicago is one of the worst in the league against guards, her price refuses to budge, and she’s put up at least 27.7 FDP in 3 of her last 4 games, including a 36 and a 40.4. Easy. Play her. She is the LOCK BUTTON of the slate.

Allisha Gray ($4,200) – Gray has a very tough match up this evening just like her teammate SDS. There are some things to look at and love here though. For one, her ownership will likely be low as she has put up 11.4 and 14.6 FDP in her last 2 games. This is very largely in part of her poor shooting though where she has shot 2-10 in those games. She is due for positive regression in that department. Lastly, she is seeing 25-30 minutes a game and has seen at least 25 minutes in 5 straight games. We have to love 25+ minutes in cash for $4,200. I will look to her in all formats despite the difficult match up and the recent poor shooting.

Alana Beard ($3,900) – Beard is another value guard worth looking into. She has played 20+ minutes in 5 straight games and I expect the trend to continue. I worry about her lack of scoring ability. She has 6 steals in her last 2 games which largely contribute to her fantasy production. She is a very defensive minded player so they could certainly continue, but it’s not a stat you like to look to for cash games. I am hesitant to do so, but due to such a low price, Beard is a value play in all formats.
