WNBA Breakdown / June 12, 2018

Welcome, all! I am here to break down today’s 4 game WNBA slate. We have been slaughtering in the discord chat (which is $5 a month for all sports… freaking JOIN). I thought I’d break out of the chat and give you guys a nice, FREE breakdown of today’s slate so you can all make some money! I will go team by team and I will use Fanduel pricing as a reference point. Let’s get into it! As always, I will be in the discord to answer specific lineup questions, give further, more in-depth advice, and update you on the hard to find WNBA news that comes through!

LV @ IND / O/U 161 / IND -3

LV (1-7)

Moriah Jefferson, Nia Coffey, and Isabelle Harrison will be OUT for tonight’s contest.

Las Vegas is really bad. It’s their first year in the league and they certainly look the part. That doesn’t mean we can’t find fantasy goodness on their team! Let’s dig in.

The first place to start with Las Vegas is always in number 1 draft pick A’ja Wilson ($7,000). I told you guys to pounce on her early in the year as she will be priced up with the studs in no time! Wilson has showcased an incredible floor scoring at least 28.4 FDP every single game. With Coffey sidelined, her minutes are more than secure and she makes for an excellent play in all formats this evening. The only other player I can recommend from this game is Kayla McBride ($4,300), who despite putting up 22.6 or more FDP in her last 4 games, her price has gone down. I am full lock button on McBride for FD cash games. She is averaging 24.1 FDP per game this year and her price at $4,300 is way too cheap.

IND (0-8)

Candice Dupree is questionable for tonight’s contest.

This is literally the worst game of the year, however, the Fever are favored by 3 here in Indiana. It’s hard to give insight on this game without the status of Dupree as she is a high usage player for the Fever that will cut into a ton of player’s fantasy production. The best play here has got to be Kelsey Mitchell ($5,400). Her minutes are safe and she gets BUCKETS. I will downgrade her if Dupree becomes active though as Dupree is a scorer as well. The matchup is good so consider Mitchell a core play if Dupree misses and a viable option if Dupree is available. Tiffany Mitchell ($5,200) becomes a top GPP option if Dupree misses as she chucks up tons of shots and has a boatload of upside. If Dupree plays, I will downgrade her quite a bit. Achonwa ($4,300), McCall ($3,600) and Vivians ($3,900) are all in consideration, but only if Dupree misses. Achonwa would be your cash play, McCall should also be considered in cash and Vivians would be your low owned GPP play. This team has a lot of upside, but we will need to keep an eye on the status of Dupree throughout the day!

PHO @ DAL / O/U 170 / DAL -2.5

PHO (7-3)

No injury news

Brittney Griner ($8,700) is on her way to starting for the Phoenix Suns next year. I read a blog that she may look to replace Dragan Bender in the 2018-2019 season. LOL. She’s a BEAST! Griner will forever and always be in play in any matchup, but this is one that may slow her down! Cambage is a ginormous force to be reckoned with and held Brittney to 26.4 FDP in her first outing. I think Griner will figure it out a little more tonight as she seems to be in more rhythm, but she is not the top stud option for me. Consider her a tournament option. Taurasi ($7,200) and Bonner ($6,500) are both also viable in all formats. I prefer Taurasi who has been CRUSHING this season so far. The veteran can ball! I will be continuing to roster her everywhere until further notice. Those are typically the 3 you will roster from this team. Lyttle ($4,400) is someone I look to in tournaments, but not tonight.

DAL (4-3)

Karima Christmas-Kelly is questionable and Plaisance is OUT for tonight’s contest.

First and foremost, KCK will miss tonight’s game. I will be writing this as if she will, but if she DOES play, downgrade all guard plays. SDS ($8,400) is always in consideration as the top guard, but you will be paying a premium for her. She’s worth it tonight if KCK misses as she will have to see tons of usage in a slightly easy matchup. Allisha Gray ($4,000) becomes a core play when KCK misses especially at $4,000. I fully expect her to see 30+ minutes tonight and easily eclipse 20 FDP. She doesn’t have a ton of upside, but will be a LOCK in cash games for me. Liz Cambage ($8,200) hasn’t scored less than 38.3 FDP all year long. Consider her one of the top options at the forward position this evening.

CHI @ SEA / O/U 170 / SEA -10.5

CHI (3-5)

Stefanie Dolson is OUT for tonight’s contest.

Cheyenne Parker ($4,600) has demolished without Dolson. I fully expect her to do her thing and she is viable in all formats. She is the only option on Chicago tonight.

SEA (6-3)

Crystal Langhorne is questionable for tonight’s contest.

Breanna Stewart ($8,300) will be in top form for a bounce-back game in a soft match up against Chicago. She has already put up 46.7 FDP against them this year. I’m hoping her recent performances will keep her lower owned, as she is my top play of the slate. Jewell Loyd ($7,900) will carry close to zero ownership, but put up 51 FDP last time against the sky. She is a fantastic tournament play tonight. Natasha Howard ($6,000) has certainly picked up Stewart’s slack the last couple of games and her price remains more than reasonable. She is a core option tonight. Alysha Clark ($3,700) is a fantastic value play in all formats. Her price is awesome and the IND value plays should keep her ownership fair.

ATL @ LA / O/U 150.5 / LA -8

ATL (5-3)

Brittney Sykes is doubtful for tonight’s contest.

Tiffany Hayes ($5,700) is simply too cheap. Her minutes are so secure and her production scoring the basketball has been very efficient. She has scored 22+ in 3 straight games. The matchup is tough so that is keeping me off a lock button, but she is a viable option in all formats and makes for an even better cash play. Angel McCoughtry ($7,300) has been a beast but her price has kept her off of my lineups. She is viable, but I prefer other forwards in her price range. I just don’t typically roster ATL players and don’t plan to in this matchup with a low O/U. Hayes is fine for cash though,

LA (5-2)

Maria Vadeeva is probably for tonight’s contest.

I never roster LA players and in a matchup that can turn into a blowout, with a low scoring chance, I will not do it. I will not even write them up as they all seem to be overpriced.

Good luck tonight! Follow me on twitter @DFSClutchBoy and ask away if you have any questions!
