Welcome to the MLB FanCave Favorites for today’s Early Only six-game slate on Fanduel, starting at 12:05 ET. In this top plays article, I will briefly highlight my top pitchers, my top stacks, and my favorite one-off bats that I will be building my lineups around. Let’s jump right in!
Trevor Bauer – Cleveland Indians – $9,300
With a six-game slate with a couple of weather concers I am finding myself on what will likely be a very chalky Bauer for cash games. Up until his last start where he finally put up a dud of 11 FDP, Bauer was the model of consistency for cash games pitchers. He had posted six quality starts in a row, averaging 44.7 FDP in that span. He faces a weak Tigers lineup today, and will be a staple in cash games.
Lance Lynn – Minnesota Twins – $6,000
Pretty amazing what the old revenge narrative can do on a small slate. Not many people are going to be on a pitcher who has posted a 7.34 ERA to this point in the season, but hear me out. Lynn was a long time Cardinal, and will no doubt try to be at his best this afternoon as he faces his former team. The Cardinals are 2-10 in their history in Minnesota, and can’t seem to win there. Despite his overall rough year, Lynn has proven he still has something left. Early in the season he struck out nine Astros en route to a 42 FDP game, and just two starts ago against the White Sox, he posted a 43 FDP game with a quality start and seven K’s. If you are looking for cheap GPP flyer fire up Lynn today!
Cleveland Indians – (Francisco Lindor – $5,000, Jose Ramirez – $4,800, Rajai Davis – $2,300, Brandon Guyer – $2,300)
The Indians are easily my top stack for this slate, facing young Tigers lefty Ryan Carpenter. Carpenter has posted a 7.36 ERA in just 3.2 innings of work in relief thus far this season. With two value bats in Guyer and Davis again, this stack can work along with Indians pitcher Bauer. I will be using this stack in cash and GPP, and it will likely be fairly chalky.
Top One-Off Bats:
1B – Carlos Santana – Philadelphia Phillies – $3,900
The Phillies will take on Andrew Cashner and the Orioles today, and will likely be the highest owned team overall. Santana confirmed he is still hot, with a nice bounce-back 30.9 FDP game on Sunday, after going 0-for-4 on Friday. The Phillies should be well rested with the weather woes lately, and this game should post a high score.
OF – Jose Osuna – Pittsburgh Pirates – $2,600
A lefty killer, Osuna finds himself in the clean-up spot, sporting a .353 batting average. The Pirates come in facing Chicago veteran Hector Santiago, and I expect them to score a bunch.
OF – Max Moroff – Pittsburgh Pirates – $2,000
Once again, Moroff batting leadoff at minimum price against a lefty is a free square. Lock him in.
That’s it for today. I’ll be working on the five-game main slate as well so look for that later! Good luck in your contests this afternoon! Give me a follow https://twitter.com/JuanBondDFS and let me know if I sucked or won you some money!
