Stacks are essential to most DFS players success during MLB season. This article will highlight some promising stacks in prime spots to go off. I will never write up Coors Field as it is a known hot bed for stacking. Stack’em up, Sheet Squad!
Boston Red Sox (Cash/GPP)
Tyler Skaggs is on the mound a night after the Red Sox dropped 10 runs… Welcome to Red Sox chalk night. Typically I fade them when chalk but two things are stopping me from a full fade. First is the slate is small so less options to pivot too. Need to have some of the Red Sox to me. Secondly, it is Tyler Skaggs….
VS LHBs: .296 wOBA and .127 ISO
VS RHBs: .334 wOBA and .161 ISO
Mookie Betts and JD Martinez is where I would start Red Sox stacks. Mookie is coming off 3 HR game so he de facto chalk tonight.
Betts: .369 wOBA and .244 ISO vs LHP this season
Martinez: .493 wOBA and .335 ISO vs LHP this season
All Red Sox righties are in play here. Hanley Ramirez and Edurado Nunez are my favorites here but I do have interest in Christian Vazquez if he starts for cheap exposure here.
Los Angeles Angels (Cash/GPP)
Price shut down that Angels last night, but I am willing to bet Porcello does not stop them back to back days. Porcello is NOT good and never has been. The Angels can jump all over him tonight. Only thing that helps Porcello is Ohtani will not bat tonight but Angels have plenty of bats to punish him.
VS LHBs: .344 wOBA and .220 ISO
VS RHBs: .329 wOBA and .182 ISO
Mike Trout is my lock in this stack. He knows Porcello well and BVP is solid if you are into that.
Trout: .430 wOBA and .289 ISO vs RHB this season
While both sides hit Porcello, lefties tend to get the power against him. Luis Valbuena and Kole Calhoun would be those bats to look at. Righties can still hit him Ian Kinsler and Albert Pujols will be those bats. I don’t invest a ton into BVP personally, but Justin Upton is 2-9 with 3 Ks and 0 XBHs. I will likely stay away from him.
Cleveland Indians (GPP)
Jose Berrios is chalk tonight to be with the Puerto Rico narrative. I WILL have an Indians stack. If you have followed my writing over the last two year, I have written up the Indians against Sale, Kershaw, and other big names and had success. They are pesky bats to deal with. Berrios is good, no doubt about it but Indians are one of my favorite stacks. They could be tonight’s Red Soxs.
VS LHBs: .333 wOBA and .164 ISO
VS RHBs: .252 wOBA and .11 ISO
Francisco Lindor is the core here. He is a Puerto Rico narrative as well and probably the fan favorite. He homered last nigth and missed two others by very little. I like him to damage tonight.
Lindor: .344 wOBA and .189 ISO vs RHP this season
I won’t touch a righty unless it is Roberto Perez (PR native as well). Indians have lefty bats to love here; Michael Brantley, Tyler Naquin, Jason Kipnis, Yonder Alonso, Jose Ramierz and Bradley Zimmer. I expect 6 plus LHBs vs Berrios. (those are listed in order of preference.
Anthony Rendon, Ryan Zimmerman, Howie Kendrick, Bryce Harper
Paul Goldschmidt, Daniel Descalso, David Peralta, Alex Avila
