• Point Guard
Chris Paul – 18/8/5 [ $8,100 / $8,000 ] In the 2 meetings with the Trailblazers this season, Chris Paul has been phenomenal, as he’s averaged 31.5 points per game, 9 assists and 5 rebounds, something very possible yet again, as James Harden draws focus. Portland ranks 7th in the league defensively, holding a 104.0 team rating, however, Paul knows them well and has been rolling.
Jeff Teague – 13/7/3 [ $7,000 / $6,400 ] With Jimmy Butler out, Jeff Teague has been integrated into the offense even more so and over his past 10 matches, he owns a 23% usage, which is over a 4% boost to what he has averaged over this year’s entirety. Teague has put up 30.5+ FanDuel points in each of his last 13 outings and in the prior meeting, he went for 41.6 FanDuel points.
• Shooting Guard
CJ McCollum – 21/3/3 [ $7,200 / $6,700 ] For similar reasons to the aforementioned Chris Paul, CJ McCollum enters the article, as Damian Lillard will likely face the brunt of the defensive pressure (if he plays – child birth), allowing for some solid production. If McCollum sees the court without Lillard, he’ll be incredibly chalky, but for good reason and shouldn’t be avoided, if that’s so.
Lou Williams – 23/5/2 [ $7,100 / $7,200 ] The Clippers and Timberwolves own the highest over/under of tonight’s slate, by far, which has much to like about, including the reasonable priced Lou Williams, who should be able to meet his value fairly easily. LA is implied to score 111 total points and if Tobias Harris sits, Williams could become an even bigger part of their game plan.
• Small Forward
Josh Jackson – 12/1/4 [ $6,500 / $6,300 ] Teammate TJ Warren has already been sidelined for tonight’s game and if Devin Booker is also unable to play (questionable), then Josh Jackson would soar to the tops of the forward rankings, becoming even chalkier. Detroit has been much better versus small forwards, as the campaign has developed, but Jackson should play a lot, which helps.
Nemanja Bjelica – 6/1/3 [ $6,100 / $5,800 ] Coming off 3 fantastic performances, where Nemanja Bjelica had put up a cool 38.4+ FanDuel points, he now finds himself in a bounce back situation against the Clippers and looks to capitalize on his 35+ minutes. Over their previous 10 matches, LA has been the worst team against small forward, according to DvP, further freeing up Bjelica.
• Power Forward
Anthony Davis – 27/11/2 [ $12,300 / $11,500 ] Simply put, Anthony Davis is in a smash spot against the Mavericks and with his price being reasonable, unless you’re going with a stack or building around another stud(s), he’s gotta be in your line, tonight. Just now, Jrue Holiday has been ruled out with an illness, making Davis an even bigger must play, at least, that’s how I see this.
Jae Crowder – 9/1/3 [ $5,400 / $4,600 ] Previously mentioned in the value article earlier, Jae Crowder is likely to become quite a popular play on tonight’s slate, as Derrick Favors is out and the Hawks place 23rd in the league defensively with a 108.6 rating. Recently, Crowder has played in the high 20 minutes, which I expect here again and Atlanta has trouble versus power forwards.
Rudy Gobert – 14/10/2 [ $10,100 / $8,400 ] On the same team, Rudy Gobert has an excellent matchup himself and since he has returned from his injury, is playing very well, as he’s put up a rather impressive 47.7+ FanDuel points in 7 of his last 10 contests. The Hawks have allowed their opponents an average of 44.4 points in the paint and rank 29th in defensive rebound percentage.
Clint Capela – 14/10/1 [ $7,800 / $6,600 ] After some bad outings, Clint Capela looks to have it figured out, as he’s put up a nice 42.4+ FanDuel points in 2 his prior 3 matches and while tonight’s contest isn’t a favorable one, it seems to be a competitive one. With that in mind, Capela is more of a tournament option, despite his recent play, because as mentioned, this can be hit or miss.
