NBA Plays of the Day – 3/11
- Plays are based on stats, opposition and pricing.
- Averaged 17-18 Season stats after player’s names.
- FanDuel and DraftKings prices listed respectively.
• Point Guard
Chris Paul – 18/8/5 [ $8,200 / $7,800 ] Currently, James Harden is questionable to play and there’s a decent possibility that he sits in order to be ready for the next game, which, if he does, would put Chris Paul in an even better position. The Mavericks have defended point guards quite well, according to DvP, but Paul did go for 55.1 FanDuel points against them in their prior meeting.
Lonzo Ball – 10/6/6 [ $7,700 / $7,600 ] Since returning from injury, Lonzo Ball has put up 35.9+ FanDuel points in 5 of his last 7 games and in a matchup with the Cavaliers, it’s not far fetched that he’d carry on that success, in this one. Cleveland ranks 28th in the league defensively (inflated), possibly allowing Ball some room, even with the Cavs recent stoutness versus point guards.
• Shooting Guard
Eric Gordon – 18/2/2 [ $5,600 / $5,100 ] Similarly to teammate Chris Paul, Eric Gordon would see a boost if James Harden isn’t available to play, allowing for plenty more minutes (possible starter), as well as the ability to save you salary. Dallas ranks 19th defensively, owning a 107.0 defensive rating and allows opponents to shoot an average of 46.7% from the field, freeing Gordon.
Caris LeVert – 11/4/3 [ $5,400 / $5,600 ] While D’Angelo Russell has come back and played alright, Caris LeVert has had a couple of really solid outings over his previous 3 matches, putting up 47.5 and 39.8 FanDuel point efforts, recently. The Sixers have had some difficulties with shooting guards, for most of the season and lately, allowing LeVert a better opportunity to provide value.
• Small Forward
LeBron James – 26/8/8 [ $12,500 / $11,600 ] With Cleveland looking to be short-handed for tonight’s contest, LeBron James may have to do it all, as he often does, just to stay competitive, especially in Los Angeles, against the young Lakers. Although priced rather high, LeBron has been extremely consistent, reaching/coming close to return, and could easily do so here, if this is close.
Jayson Tatum – 13/1/4 [ $4,600 / $4,800 ] In the Celtics’ prior game, Jaylen Brown took a hard fall and will not be active tonight, which means that Jayson Tatum will need to step up and help Kyrie Irving a bit more, in playoff-like atmosphere. Tatum put up a nice performance against Indiana during their last match, playing 35 minutes, while going for 15 points, 1 assist and 3 boards.
• Power Forward
Larry Nance Jr. – 9/7 [ $7,800 / $7,400 ] For the first time, since being traded by the Lakers, Larry Nance Jr. will play in Staples Center and, as mentioned before, the Cavs don’t have a ton of depth, potentially opening the door for a big night. LA is a very targetable front court, as they allow an average of 48.7 points in paint per game, which should give Nance a lot of opportunities.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson – 14/6 [ $5,700 / $5,800 ] Over his past 4 matches, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson has been entirely up and down, putting up 13, 41.1, 18.7 and 45.4 FanDuel point performances, respectively – let’s hope the pattern ends, here. Both teams place among the top 7 in pace and with Hollis-Jefferson racking up nice peripheral numbers as of late, he could fill up the sheet.
Joel Embiid – 23/10/1 [ $9,400 / $9,500 ] At an extremely discounted price, especially for this matchup, although deservingly so, Joel Embiid is very much in play, per usual, against the Brooklyn Nets, who have been torched by centers, all year. The Nets are constantly beat up by big men and rank 21st in the league in rebound percentage, meaning, Embiid should do his thing, inside.
Clint Capela – 14/11/1 [ $7,200 / $6,500 ] Like his teammates listed above, Clint Capela could come into a bit more comfort, that is if Harden sits, as this game would have a much better chance of staying close(r), allowing for nice production. In the previous contest against the Mavericks, Capela went of for 16 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks in 31 minutes, versus a weak front court.
Extras: Irving, Oladipo, Barnes, Simmons, Randle.
