NBA Value Plays – 3/9
- Plays are based solely on opposition and pricing.
- FanDuel and DraftKings prices listed respectively.
• Point Guard
Xavier Rathan-Mayes [ $4,000 / $4,200 ] With both Andrew Harrison and Mario Chalmers inactive, Xavier Rathan-Mayes has filled in rather nicely, putting up 20.9 and 24.7 FanDuel point efforts in his past couple of outings. The rookie has been afforded solid minutes due to the lack of depth, playing 25+ minutes in both games and is in line to see similar time against the Utah Jazz.
• Shooting Guard
Ben McLemore [ $4,800 / $4,800 ] Like his teammate Rathan-Mayes, Ben McLemore has seen expanded play, most likely due to the injuries, to which he has taken advantage of, putting up 31.4+ FanDuel points in each of his previous 3 games. The Jazz are extremely good on the defensive end, owning a 102.9 team defensive rating and have limited shooting, but he’s played fantastic.
• Small Forward
Jonathan Simmons [ $4,500 / $4,700 ] In a bit of an easier spot, as compared to the Memphis guys, Jonathan Simmons gets the Sacramento Kings, who have allowed opponents to shoot 47.5% from the field and 38.4% from three-point range. This gives way for a lot of upside, especially when considering that both Evan Fournier and Aaron Gordon will be sidelined for tonight’s match.
• Power Forward
Luc Mbah a Moute [ $3,700 / $3,500 ] For an incredibly low price(s), Luc Mbah a Moute finds himself in what should be a very competitive matchup with the Toronto Raptors, who have been locked in on both ends of the court. While Mbah a Moute likely won’t put up an impressive stat line, he does just about everything for Houston, as he’s become a real facet to the their system.
Kosta Koufos [ $4,500 / $4,700 ] Noted in FanCave Favorites, Willie Cauley-Stein is ruled out for tonight, so, if Kosta Koufos suits up, seeing as the Kings have been unpredictable with rotations this year, he should be a nice punt play. The Magic have allowed an average of 49.2 points in the paint per game (the most in the league) and rank 25th in rebounding, grabbing 41.3 per contest.
Extras: Livingston, Simmons, Moore, Sabonis, McGee.
*Frank Mason and Shelvin Mack are both in play, too.
