Happy Sunday everyone, Hope you have had a great weekend so far! Tonight, we have a 4 game slate and some pretty solid matchups. Lock is at 7:30 PM ET/6:30 PM CT. I will list my top plays, good plays, and value plays for tonight’s games and if you want further details on plays then you need to be in our slack chat! Here are the 4 matchups tonight and their start times (Eastern Time):
DET@ NYR 7:30pm
EDM@ ANH 8:00pm
SJ@ MIN 8:00pm
VAN@ ARI 9:30pm
In all honesty I like all four of these matchups. I will take DET, ANH, MIN, and ARI as the winners in these games. At the end of the article, I will put down my favorite line stacks for the night. Now let’s move into the plays of the day!
Top Center Plays:
Ryan Getzlaf vs Edmonton Oilers ($7300 FD/$7000 DK)
Getzlaf didn’t have a great game against the Coyotes two nights ago but the two games before that against the Knights and the Stars, Getzlaf scored over 18 FD points in both and showed some very promising signs. Great play in my book tonight against the Oilers.
Henrik Zetterberg @ New York Rangers ($5800 FD/$5200 DK)
Zetterberg is one of the centers that I think will be relatively low owned tonight as others will go for Staal and McDavid of course. He is also much cheaper than all these others so you could fit him in with someone like Staal or Getzlaf.
Eric Staal vs San Jose Sharks ($7200 FD/$7100 DK)
Staal is my favorite Wild center again tonight against the San Jose sharks who haven’t played their best hockey as of late. Staal will continue to be on the first line, especially after the breakout game him and Granlund had together two nights ago, where both scored two goals apiece.
Good Center Plays:
Connor McDavid @ Anaheim Ducks ($9100 FD/7900 DK)
McDavid is honestly not one of my favorite centers tonight because I like the three above so much more. Obviously, McDavid always has the chance for a break out game and I wouldn’t be surprised if he does but for tonight I like the other three options much more.
Dylan Larkin @ New York Rangers ($6000 FD/$5400 DK)
I have Larkin under the good center play but I really cant decide which line I like more tonight. I expect them both to have very good games tonight against the Rangers and it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if both lines found the score sheet tonight.
Value Center Plays:
Ryan Kesler vs Edmonton Oilers ($5400 FD/$4300 DK)
Kesler is the second line center for the Ducks and I wouldn’t be surprised if Kesler and Silfvergberg connect on 1 or 2 goals tonight against the Oilers.
Kevin Hayes vs Detroit Red Wings ($5900 FD/$4000 DK)
I’m really not much of a fan of any Rangers tonight but Hayes is a cheaper center option that could easily find the net tonight against the Red Wings. He has double digit FD points in 3 of his last 4 games for the Rangers entering tonight.
Top Winger Plays:
Rickard Rakell vs Edmonton Oilers ($6500 FD/$6800 DK)
Rakell is one of my favorite wingers tonight because I expect the first line for the Ducks to find the score sheet at least twice if not three times tonight against Al Montoya and the Edmonton Oilers.
Mikael Granlund vs San Jose Sharks ($7300 FD/$6400 DK)
Granlund is coming off a 54.9 FD point game against the Rangers two nights ago. He originally had a hat trick but they switched the second goal to Staal, who also had an incredible game. This line should continue that magic tonight against the Sharks.
Jason Zucker vs San Jose Sharks ($6500 FD/$6200 DK)
Zucker has score double digit FD points in 3 of his last 4 games as the Wild have had one heck of a month of February. I like the first line again tonight against the San Jose Sharks and wouldn’t mind a stack with Staal, Zucker and or Granlund or any 2 of the 3.
Good Winger Plays
Jakob Silfverberg vs Edmonton Oilers ($5200 FD/$4900 DK)
Silfvergberg had a really good game against the Vegas Golden Knights three games ago and then hasn’t really done much of anything since. I expect the ducks to put quite a few past Montoya tonight and Silfvergberg should be apart of it.
Brock Boeser @ Arizona Coyotes ($6300 FD/$6600 DK)
Boeser has picked back up his production the last two games going into double digit FD points both games. I have the Coyotes and Kuemper as the favorites tonight to win this game but if I am going to do a one-off it is Boeser tonight.
Anthony Mantha @ New York Rangers ($5500 FD/$5000 DK)
I really like Detroit in this matchup tonight against the Rangers. Can’t decide which line I like more because I like both so much. Mantha has seen his production slip as of late but I think he rebounds here tonight.
Value Winger Plays:
Brendan Perlini vs Vancouver Canucks ($3600 FD/$4100 DK)
Perlini is on the first line for the Coyotes tonight against the Canucks. He is extremely cheap and Vegas has the Coyotes as slight favorites in this matchup tonight. Very good value play tonight if you are looking to stack some more expensive players.
Andreas Athanasiou @ New York Rangers ($4000 FD/$5000 DK)
It really surpises me that Athanasiou is still this cheap. He consistently plays well and scores good fantasy numbers night in and night out. I really like him tonight against the New York Rangers as well as stacking Larkin with him.
Top Defenseman Plays:
Brent Burns @ Minnesota Wild ($7200 FD/$7500)
Burns is hands down my favorite defenseman play tonight and honestly you can’t ever go wrong with playing this guy. He is coming off a game against the Blackhawks where he recorded 7 shots and an assist. He shoots the puck so much it’s honestly insane. Love Burns tonight.
Ryan Suter vs San Jose Sharks ($5600 FD/$4900 DK)
Suter has 30,31, and 30 minutes of ice time over his last three games for the wild. That is an outstanding amount of ice time for any player on any team. Based off trend, I expect him to continue to see a bunch of ice time tonight against the Sharks and he will most likely find the score sheet as well.
Good Defenseman Plays:
Oscar Klefbom @ Anaheim Ducks ($5500 FD/$5300 DK)
Klefbom is a consistent fantasy points defenseman this season. He will get you over 6 FD points night in and night out with various games scoring you double or triple that amount. Good play tonight against the Ducks.
Matt Dumba vs San Jose Sharks ($4700 FD/$4800 DK)
Dumba has played exceptionally well over the last three games for the Wild and is on the first defenseman pair. He has double digit FD points in his last three games and has found the score sheet multiple times in that span.
Value Defenseman Plays:
Brandon Montour vs Edmonton Oilers ($3600 FD/$3900 DK)
Montour is on the first defenseman pair for the Ducks tonight against the Oilers. He gets most of his value through Shots on goal and blocked shots. Cheap defenseman with high upside tonight.
Neal Pionk vs Detroit Red Wings ($3700 FD/$3100 DK)
Pionk is still on the top Rangers defensive unit. He is near minimum price and gives you about 22-24 minutes of ice time per game which is incredible for this cheap of a defenseman.
Top Goalie Plays:
Devan Dubnyk vs San Jose Sharks ($8800 FD/7800 DK)
The Wild are looking to extend their 3 game winstreak tonight in a home ice matchup against the Sharks. Duby is 6-1-2 in the month of February. Great matchup against the Sharks tonight who have struggled a little bit recently. Even in any tough matchups, I’d still take Dubnyk with how well he is playing.
Good Goalie Plays:
Ryan Miller vs Edmonton Oilers ($8200 FD/$8300 DK)
Miller has had three outstanding performances in his last three games, where he got 20 saves and no goals against in relief of Gibson against the Vegas Golden Knights and then received a shutout against the Stars and unfortunately got a loss against the Coyotes even though he only gave up goal. Not an ideal matchup tonight against the Oilers but I still like their chances of getting the win.
Value Goalie Plays:
Darcy Kuemper vs Vancouver Canucks ($7900 FD/$7200 DK)
Kuemper gets his first start tonight after being traded to the Coyotes two nights ago. He owned impressive numbers with the Kings this season, posting a 10-1-3 record to complement a 2.10 GAA and .932 save percentage. Preferably he is just a GPP only play for me tonight as it is his first start and the Vancouver offense always has the potential to go off.
My Favorite GPP Stacks Tonight:
