• Point Guard
Russell Westbrook – 25/10/9 [ $11,800 / $11,500 ] Like many others, Russell Westbrook is my favorite play on tonight’s slate and for obvious reasons, but most notably, he’ll get to take on his former teammate Kevin Durant, making things interesting. This meeting with the Warriors owns a slate high over/under of 230, giving Westbrook plenty of opportunities to take advantage of.Elfrid Payton – 13/6/4 [ $6,900 / $6,700 ] Being short-handed isn’t exactly ideal in sports, especially basketball, but Elfrid Payton sees himself in an excellent individual matchup with Isaiah Thomas, who possesses a 115.4 defensive rating. As a unit, Orlando will have an excess amount of usage to go around with Aaron Gordon out, which will undoubtedly find its way over to Payton.
• Shooting Guard
Klay Thompson – 20/2/4 [ $6,700 / $6,300 ] Since losing Andre Roberson for the season, the Thunder have been dipping in their defensive strides, now placing 5th amongst the league defensively, holding a still strong 103.6 team defense. With most of the focus being revolved around Curry and Durant, and for good reason, this will free up Thompson who has been fantastic lately.
Josh Hart – 5/1/3 [ $5,000 / $4,700 ] As mentioned in ClutchBoy’s Value Plays article, Josh Hart will be on about everyone’s radar, meaning, he’ll be a chalky play, however, that shouldn’t steer you off from rostering him against Phoenix. Along with a pace up atmosphere, Hart should continue to see solid minutes, as he’s seen upwards of 34 in his previous 2 games, allowing for upside.
• Small Forward
Kevin Durant – 25/5/6 [ $10,700 / $9,800 ] I’m not sure that anyone wants this win more than Kevin Durant, other than former teammate Russell Westbrook, as he’s been phenomenal against the Thunder and is averaging 33/2/8 in 4 contests. Personally, I believe that Durant is in a great spot, even against Paul George, who has had struggles defensively since Roberson was injured.
Brandon Ingram – 15/3/5 [ $6,900 / $6,900 ] While many eyes will be set on opposing small forward TJ Warren or even the rook Josh Jackson, the Lakers remain without point guard Lonzo Ball, which sets up Brandon Ingram nicely. Both LA and Phoenix place amongst the top 3 in the league for pace and the Suns have struggled defensively, boasting the worst defense in the NBA.
• Power Forward
Kristaps Porzingis – 22/6/2 [ $8,800 / $8,400 ] Last meeting against Milwaukee wasn’t particularly kind to Kristaps Porzingis, as he posted just 30.4 FanDuel points across 35 minutes of action. Porzingis is likely to be more of a contrarian option, nonetheless, the Bucks rank 29th in the league in defensive rebounding, grabbing only 31.2 and allow an average of 45.7 points in the paint.
Draymond Green – 11/7/7 [ $8,000 / $7,400 ] Realistically, Draymond Green probably won’t be seeing a ton of Carmelo Anthony on defense, as the Warriors will likely go small the majority of the game, but he’s in one of the better spots. For what Green is capable of doing, on both ends of the court, his price range is just too damn cheap, especially in this thriller of a game, tonight.
Marc Gasol – 18/8/1 [ $8,900 / $8,700 ] Most often, matchups are the driving factor, however, the absence of Tyreke Evans has more than opened up a ton of usage and with Mike Conley out, Marc Gasol is more than the main beneficiary. Gasol is easily my favorite play at the center position for that alone, but it doesn’t hurt that Atlanta ranks 26th in defense, as well as rebounding.
Julius Randle – 14/7 [ $7,600 / $6,800 ] Simply put, Julius Randle’s days in Los Angeles are more than likely numbered, and the Lakers are doing anything possible to drive up his stock, allowing him to run free and show off his game. Over the previous 2 outings, Randle has played 32 and 33 minutes, respectively, while putting up solid numbers and should yet again see nice time.
Extras: Harrison, Harden, Hezonja, Bender, Adams.
