NBA FanCave Favorites – 1/12

Hey FanCavers, for tonight’s slate I’ll be trying out something new! Instead of Plays of the Day, or even Value Plays, I’ll be giving you some of my favorite plays that may be overlooked, or that I think are in a nice spot, regardless of recent play. As always, I will still be in the Slack Chat to provide help on everything NBA, before lock. Alright, let’s get into it!

Kemba Walker – 21/5/3 | [ $8,500 / $7,600 ]

Although the Utah Jazz have held opposing point guards to minimal production this season, ranking as the best DvP team against the point guard position, they have been slumping.

Kemba Walker has been playing great basketball as of late, putting up 5 consecutive outings of 37.8+ FanDuel points and 2+ steals per game, something very possible, tonight.

Another factor that makes Walker so appealing is that home court has actually been a huge thing for him, as he possesses major road and home splits, throughout his entire career.

Will Barton – 14/4/4 | [ $6,000 / $5,500 ]

While Will Barton will likely see increased ownership, due to Garry Harris being sidelined for tonight’s game, there’s more to rostering him than just his probable increased role.

Simply put, Barton has played poorly over his last 5 matches, with his best game resulting in 28.6 FanDuel points, which we now know is partially, because he’s had the flu.

The only real issue in this game is that it owns the lowest Over/Under on the entire slate, with a 205 total, but there’s plenty of upside in Memphis’ struggles versus shooting guards.

Otto Porter Jr. – 14/1/6 | [ $7,100 / $6,000 ]

Over the last year and a half, or so, Otto Porter Jr. has developed himself into a solid player to support the likes of John Wall and Bradley Beal, which got the man paid this offseason.

Tonight’s meeting with the Magic is an excellent one for Porter, as they have had trouble with small forwards, ranking among the bottom in DvP, both season long and recently.

Orlando’s 27th ranked defense, holding a 108.7 team defensive rating, and their inability to limit shooting, allowing a whopping 47.2% field goal percentage, looks gpp worthy to me.

Kevin Love – 19/9 | [ $7,100 / $7,900 ]

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been absolutely horrendous in their last couple of games, being blown out by both the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Toronto Raptors by 25+ points.

This is a true bounce back spot, as they will take on the Pacers, who are 2nd worst team against centers, but have since been better, nonetheless, the door is open for Kevin Love.

Love’s recent production has been similar to the Cavs, nonexistent, however, taking a look at the numbers, this is expected to be a very competitive game – take that with a grain of salt.

Shoutout Joe and Johnny, some of the best dudes in the industry!
