NBA Plays of the Day – 1/11
- Plays are based on stats, opposition, and pricing.
- Averaged 17-18 Season stats after player’s names.
- FanDuel and DraftKings prices listed respectively.
• Point Guard
Lonzo Ball – 10/7/7 [ $7,800 / $7,200 ] Since returning from a shoulder injury, Lonzo Ball has been playing exceptionally well, posting back to back double doubles, while limiting turnovers. Out of all the point guards on tonight’s slate, Ball has by far the most upside with his all around game. San Antonio is tough, containing point guards nicely, but there’s a lot of opportunity.
Delon Wright – 8/2/3 [ $5,700 / $5,100 ] With Kyle Lowry not expected to play, tonight, Delon Wright should be in for another start, as he has played 29 minutes in 3 of his last 4 outings. Although Wright’s rising price may steer some ownership over to backup Fred VanVleet, he remains a safe roster with his secure minutes and solid play. Targeting Thomas has benefits.
• Shooting Guard
DeMar DeRozan – 25/5/4 [ $9,600 / $8,800 ] As mentioned above, Kyle Lowry looks to be sidelined, as well as, Serge Ibaka, who is suspended, which places the heavy load onto DeMar DeRozan. Tonight’s opponent, the Cleveland Cavaliers, own the 29th ranked defense in the league, possessing a 109.0 team defensive rating. Cavs have struggled against shooting guards.
Lou Williams – 22/4/2 [ $8,900 / $8,300 ] Lou Williams is coming off a career-high 50 real point effort against the Golden State Warriors, and tonight’s meeting with Sacramento is even sweeter a situation. The Kings’ inability to limit shooting, allowing a league worst 47.7% field goal percentage, makes Williams very intriguing. Expect high ownership, even if Griffin plays.
• Small Forward
LeBron James – 27/8/8 [ $11,500 / $11,300 ] For the most part, LeBron James has been spectacular this season, however, tough spots, like tonight, have given him, and the Cavaliers as a whole, a bit of trouble. With Serge Ibaka out, there will be no real force in the paint to slow LeBron, as he barrels through everyone to the rim. There’s blowout risk, as Toronto is down.
Kyle Anderson – 8/2/5 [ $5,600 / $5,400 ] Both Kawhi Leonard and Rudy will not suit up, tonight, meaning, Kyle Anderson is in line for another big minute night against the Lakers. Anderson has seen 26+ minutes in his last 5 matches, and has put up 25+ FanDuel points in 3 of his previous 4 outings. This is a major pace up situation, as LA ranks 1st in pace in the league.
• Power Forward
LaMarcus Aldridge – 22/8/1 [ $9,900 / $8,500 ] As mentioned above, Kawhi Leonard is out, giving a significant bump to LaMarcus Aldridge through usage, which he has taken advantage of this season. The Lakers have been a targetable spot for power forwards, as they’ve been weak, most of the year, down low. Aldridge’s price has skyrocketed, but there still remains upside.
Pascal Siakam – 6/4 [ $3,500 / $4,100 ] The suspension to Serge Ibaka opens the door for backup Pascal Siakam, who has seen good minutes at times this year, despite being in a flooded front court. The Cavaliers allow 45.9 points in the paint per game, ranking 22nd among the league, and place 23rd in defensive rebound percentage. Siakam offers value on a 3 game slate.
DeAndre Jordan – 11/15/1 [ $8,800 / $8,400 ] If Blake Griffin is ruled out for tonight’s contest versus the Kings, DeAndre Jordan will become much more of a power play, but remains a fine option either way. Sacramento has failed to rebound this year, ranking 29th in defensive rebounding, grabbing a mere 30.8 per game. Jordan had 15 rebounds in the prior meeting.
Kevin Love – 19/9 [ $6,700 / $7,900 ] Kevin Love looks to get things back on track after some rough outings against the Celtics and Timberwolves, during the Cavs’ last 3 games. This a solid spot for Love, as the Raptors are without Ibaka, and already allow 45.6 points in the paint per game, while achieving average at best rebounding. Valanciunas has a 106.7 defensive rating.
