What’s up everyone! Today’s article is different and I’m SUPER excited to share it!
As you all know, we have recently formed an official affiliation with the new up-and-coming fantasy sports site, Playline. With the help of Aaron and all of the guys over there, we have a TON of awesome stuff in store for you, but I also wanted to start getting out some Playline content to help incentivize you guys to actually get involved.
It’s a much more laid back way to play DFS. Essentially, you predict a select player’s stat line or point total for the game. You get more points the more accurate you are, with a bonus for a perfect score.
There are still FREE lobbies to win REAL money, so what’s NOT to love?!
Who are the players in tonight’s Playline Perfect Line lobby? Let’s break it down…
Over his last 10 games, Beal has had a rather wide range of scoring outcomes, ranging from 4 points against the NETS, to 39 against the Bulls. He’s leveled off as of late, averaging 28.2 ppg over his last 5. He draws the Utah Jazz tonight, a team that ranks 23rd in PPG allowed to shooting guards, allowing only 22.3 PPG. Given Beal’s ability to light up the scoreboard, I definitely see him scoring more than 22 points.
My prediction: 26 points
Don’t get carried away with this pick. Many people will think that Chris Paul has just been on another level offensively since James Harden went down, but that’s not necessarily the case.
Over his last 5 games, he’s averaged 20.8 PPG, but 11.4 APG, focusing more on facilitating the offense. The Blazers have surrendered 19 PPG to point guards on the season, but Paul’s average has been brought down by an 8-point outing against the Magic. He’s good for more than 20 tonight.
My prediction: 24 points
As a Bucks fan, Giannis has been incredibly frustrating lately in DFS, but phenomenal in real life.
Unlike the beginning of the season, Giannis has only topped 30 points twice in his last 12 games, BUT both of those outings have come in his last 4 games.
The matchup against Orlando is extremely enticing, as the Bucks are implied for a massive 115 total, so I fully expect a smash spot here.
My prediction: 34 points
Notorious for his home/road splits, Kemba and the Hornets host the Mavs in Charlotte tonight, who have allowed the most PPG to opposing PGs on the season (23.9).
Combine that and the fact that Kemba averages 2.1 more points at home than on the road this season and he should be a safe bet for a 20-point game.
My prediction: 20 points
This is tough without official news on Kevin Durant, but I’m going to assume he’s playing since he is considered probable.
The Clippers allow opposing shooting guards to average 25 PPG on the season, but that’s a total Thompson has only reached twice since 12/20, and many of those games were without either Steph Curry or Kevin Durant. He’s also only averaged 16 PPG in his last 5 vs the Clippers.
Don’t go crazy here, be conservative.
My prediction: 18 points
This is another tough spot for me to gauge. On one side, the Bulls are pretty brutal against opposing forwards, allowing 21.4 points per game. One the other side, Porzingis has recently commented about how fatigued he feels after carrying the load on offense without Tim Hardaway Jr.
He erupted for 29 points last game against the Mavs (25 SHOT ATTEMPTS!) after failing to top 16 points in the three games prior and also averages 24.4 PPG over his last 5 vs the Bulls.
I fully expect him to go back to taking the reigns on offense tonight.
My prediction: 27 points
Obviously the most fun player to try and predict a stat line, Russell Westbrook essentially has a floor of at least 20 raw points. He’s on the second leg of a back to back, but that doesn’t worry me with a player of his caliber.
The Wolves have surrendered 21.2 PPG to point guards on the season, but are actually a bit better defensively with Tyus Jones than Jeff Teague.
He’s averaged 25 PPG vs the Timberwolves over his last 5 games, but I fully expect him to top that tonight with Jimmy Butler taking away Paul George on offense.
Give me a nice 30-piece tonight.
My prediction: 30 points
