• Point Guard
Russell Westbrook – 24/10/9 [ $11,800 / $11,900 ] Russell Westbrook has been great over his last 10 games, putting up 56.9+ FanDuel points in 9 of those contests. Tonight, Westbrook gets a dream matchup against the Phoenix Suns, who hold the 29th ranked defense in the league and play at 3rd fastest pace. Game does have blowout risk, but he always gets his – remaining safe.
Lonzo Ball – 10/7/6 [ $7,800 / $6,900 ] After returning from injury, Lonzo Ball looked good, accumulating 11/5/4 along with 2 steals in his 27 minutes played. In tonight’s meeting with the Atlanta Hawks, Ball’s individual opponent, Schroder, opens up a lot of upside, as he owns a 111.8 defensive rating. While he won’t score a ton of points, his ability to fill the stat sheet is valuable.
• Shooting Guard
Devin Booker – 24/4/4 [ $7,500 / $7,900 ] Coming off 2 tough outings against the Spurs and Nuggets, Devin Booker will have a bit more to look forward to against the Thunder, with Andre Roberson out. Booker’s volume shooting is perfect for fantasy output, despite OKC’s stingy defensive stance. Look for him to come out firing, even if he sees Paul George, to get things back on track.
Wesley Matthews – 12/2/3 [ $5,200 / $5,100 ] Wesley Matthews has played well over his previous 2 matches and has put up 31.8+ FanDuel points in 3 of his last 4 games. Matthews is beginning to see more consistent time, playing 35+ minutes in each of his last 3 contests. I don’t mind him on either site, as he provides secure minutes and has produced nicely in recent matchups.
• Small Forward
Brandon Ingram – 16/3/5 [ $7,000 / $6,800 ] After some bad outings, Brandon Ingram stepped up and had himself a game against Charlotte, putting up 41.8 FanDuel points, backed by 22/4/14. The Hawks struggling defensive, possessing a 108. team defense – 26th in the league, allows for a lot of upside. Expect him to be highly owned, on this very small 4 game slate, tonight.
Kyle Anderson – 8/2/5 [ $5,900 / $4,800 ] With Kawhi Leonard and Rudy Gay out with injuries, Kyle Anderson remains as the only healthy true small forward. Anderson has provided solid value over the Spurs last 5 matches, putting up 25+ FanDuel points in 4 of their last 5 games. Portland has struggled with small forwards all season long and he’s too cheap on DraftKings.
• Power Forward
LaMarcus Aldridge – 22/8/1 [ $8,400 / $7,600 ] As mentioned above, Kawhi Leonard is out for tonight’s meeting with the Trailblazers, meaning LaMarcus Aldridge will see plenty more usage, especially after resting last game. This matchup with Portland is intriguing, as they’ve been terrible against opposing bigs as of late. Keep in mind there’s a revenge narrative in play.
Dirk Nowitzki – 12/5 [ $5,100 / $5,200 ] Dirk Nowitzki continues to play at a high level offensively, putting up 27.3+ FanDuel points in 7 of his prior 8 matches. Although the Knicks have been fairly decent on the defensive end, as well as the front court, Kanter is still a weak spot in their unit. Despite his low minutes played per game, Nowitzki consistently produces nice efforts.
Steven Adams – 13/8 [ $6,300 / $6,500 ] By far my favorite option at the center position is Steven Adams, as Phoenix has been dismal on the defensive end and on the boards. The Suns rank 26th in defensive rebounding percentage and allow 48.5 points in the paint per game – 28th among the league. Adams could easily achieve a double double in this game, along with some stops.
Pau Gasol – 10/8/1 [ $5,600 / $5,900 ] Like his teammates, Anderson and Aldridge, Pau Gasol is in line for some more usage, as San Antonio switches things up with Kawhi Leonard out. Portland ranks as a top defensive squad, but has struggled since Jusuf Nurkic returned from his injury, allowing more rebounds and inside production. Gasol is a solid option to relieve some salary.
Extras: Smith, Forbes, George, Kuzma, Kanter.
