NBA Value Plays for 1/1/18

Happy New Years Fancaver’s! I hope you all had a great night celebrating, but caution to those with hangovers for trying to figure out today’s 4 game slate. It may make your headache worse haha. We have a couple great matchups on the slate so let’s dive into it!

* Caution*

Tyler Ennis $3,500 – Are you as confused as I am for seeing Ennis’ name here? With Lonzo Ball out a lot of people figured Clarkson will continue to start in his place ( where he’s been doing a great job.) But, oddly Ennis played 45 minutes last night where he recorded 44 fps and a double-double. See why I said your headache might get worse? Now, what I recommend doing is just playing Ennis because one thing for sure is that Walton wants to keep Clarkson in his reserve role. This will give Ennis another chance against the T-wolves tonight where he should have another chance to crush value. He should be chalky, but like I said play him with caution.

Justin Holiday $5,300 – Holiday is another interesting player for the Bull’s. He gets mid 30 minutes every night and ends right around value. Good news for Holiday is that the Blazers have given up 46 fps a game to the position over the last week.  He’s shown he’s able to score and stuff the stat sheet. He’ll be low owned and in a good pivot spot.

Josh Hart $4,400 – Surprise another Laker on the list. It’ll be interesting how they play tonight after big minutes in their Double OT game last night. But, with KCP out Hart should be in line for another start. He started last night and scored 26p and grabbed 6r for 38 fps. Hart is in another smash spot where he could crush value with limited depth behind him.

DeMarre Carroll $5,200 – Both of these teams give up on avg 110 points a game. I would find a way to get some of these guys in your lines. Carroll has scored 36 and 37 fps against ORL this year and should easily carry over into this game. The spread is set at 2 favoring BKN and if this one stays close could provide a lot of value. Carroll looks to be in a prime smash spot.

John Henson $5,300 –  Henson had a big game last time out against OKC and is in another good spot against TOR. He’s been starting and getting high 20 minutes. Tor struggles against opposing big men at the center position giving up 53 fps over the last week. I see Henson getting a double-double and blocking a few shots tonight.

Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of the value at the center position tonight. If I had to choose I’d pick Jacob Poeltl $4,500. He plays his role well and has scored over 20 fps in 4 out of his last 5 games. MIL also struggles mightily against big men.
