NBA Value Plays – 12/29

  1. Plays are based solely on pricing and matchups.
  2. FanDuel and DraftKings prices listed respectively.
  3. Extras are plays that hold value, but aren’t as safe.

• Point Guard

Cory Joseph [ $4,200 / $3,800 ] With Oladipo being ruled out for tonight’s game against the Bulls, Cory Joseph figures to get some extra run, like he did last game versus the Mavericks. In his 30 minutes played, Joesph put up 10 points, 6 assists, and 1 rebound along with a block, while only allowing 2 turnovers. Chicago ranks 18th among the league for defense, owning a 106.2 team defense.

• Shooting Guard

Wayne Ellington [ $4,600 / $4,700 ] Waiters, Winslow, and Johnson will all be sidelined for tonight’s meeting with Brooklyn, allowing Wayne Ellington more minutes. Ellington has played 31+ minutes in the last 5 games, which has allowed for some nice outings, including a couple of 31.6+ FanDuel point efforts. The Nets place 25th in the defensive standings and play at the 4th fastest pace.

Josh Hart [ $4,400 / $4,600 ] Josh Hart has been playing a lot of minutes lately, to which he has taken advantage of, scoring 21.6+ FanDuel points in each of his last 3 matches. While he’ll likely come off the bench, as Clarkson has been starting, it hasn’t mattered much, with Hart playing well on all fronts. The Clippers continue to be bad defensively, ranking 20th in defense, with a 106.5 rating.

• Small Forward

Lance Stephenson [ $5,800 / $5,600 ] As mentioned above, Oladipo will not be playing for the 2nd consecutive night, and no one has benefited more than Lance Stephenson. Along with sliding into the starting lineup, Stephenson sees a huge boost in minutes and usage, which he showed last game, with 42.5 FanDuel points in 36 minutes of action. I’d lock him in your lineup and move on.

E’Twaun Moore [ $4,600 / $4,900 ] All season long, E’Twaun Moore has remained a relatively safe roster, as he continues to play around 25 – 35 minutes per game. Though his production relies mainly on his scoring, he has the ability to grab some boards and dish out some assists here and there. His opponent, Dallas, has been getting a little better on defense, but still ranks 17th in the league.

• Power Forward

Larry Nance Jr. [ $4,400 / $4,300 ] Although Kuzma is now expected to play tonight, Larry Nance Jr. did play 19 minutes last game against Memphis, putting up 12 points and 9 rebounds. To put that in comparison, Julius Randle only played 11 minutes in that game and not much more in the game before. Don’t expect Nance to play a ton, but he is a bit cheaper than Randle and more efficient.

Jerami Grant [ $3,500 / $3,600 ] With Paul George now out for tonight’s contest, there is plenty more minutes to go around, and Jerami Grant is certainly up for consideration to receive more playing time. Grant’s super low price, on both sites, opens up salary relief elsewhere, while still giving quality production. Milwaukee has struggled on the glass, ranking 27th in defensive rebounding.

• Center

Nenê [ $3,700 / $3,900 ] Clint Capela will not suit up for tonight’s matchup with the Wizards, meaning Nenê will likely pick up the start for the 2nd straight night. While Nenê will probably only see 15 – 20 minutes, he’s very capable of achieving value, with all the playmakers and shooters that are around him. This game entails a revenge type narrative and a weak front court opponent.

Extras: Canaan, Roberson, Iguodala, Morris, Randle.
