• Point Guard
Kyle Lowry – 15/7/6 [ $8,200 / $8,200 ] Though he is the most expensive point guard, in a potential blowout game, Kyle Lowry is in one of the better positions on tonight’s slate, as Dallas has struggled to defend anyone, holding a 106.7 team defense – 19th in the league. Lowry’s ability fill up the stat sheet, ranking 4th among point guards in rebounds and assists, make him an elite play against the Mavs.
Eric Bledsoe – 17/4/3 [ $7,600 / $7,500 ] This is a great spot for Eric Bledsoe, as the Chicago Bulls rank 23rd in defense with a 107.2 team defensive rating, and have struggled to defend opposing guards well, seemingly all year. Over the last 11 games, Bledsoe has played a minimum of 31+ minutes, figuring to see around the same time here, and has scored in the double digits across his previous 16 outings.
Austin Rivers – 16/3/2 [ $6,600 / $6,600 ] Austin Rivers is probably my favorite play, as he has put up 36 and 38 points in his last 2 matches, respectively, and has secure minutes of 30+ on this injury plagued Clippers team. While Rivers doesn’t have nearly the same peripheral game like some other options, he is a safe pick in a smash spot against the Kings, who possess the worst team defense in the league.
• Shooting Guard
Tyreke Evans – 18/4/5 [ $8,500 / $8,600 ] With both Mike Conley and Chandler Parsons out for tonight’s matchup versus the Phoenix Suns, Tyreke Evans should continue to manage ball handling duties, which has greatly improved his value, fantasy wise. The pace up situation and sloppy defense of the Suns should have little to no restraints on another big game for Evans – 43.3 FanDuel points last meeting.
Khris Middleton – 20/4/5 [ $8,000 / $8,400 ] Khris Middleton has been one of the most consistent players this season, scoring in double figures in all but 2 games this season and putting up 35+ FanDuel points in 9 of his last 12 contests. With the Bucks implied to reach a total of 109.5 points tonight, Middleton should be one of the biggest reasons why, even with Giannis expected to be back from injury.
Lou Williams – 20/4/2 [ $7,600 / $7,600 ] As mentioned above, Sacramento owns the worst team defense, so when you have a volume scorer like Lou Williams, who mainly runs the offense with his 28.2% usage and solid shooting, take advantage. Like his teammate, Rivers, Williams has been busy over the last 2 games, scoring 32 and 34 points, respectively, and could easily do so in this one as well.
• Small Forward
Jonathan Simmons – 15/2/3 [ $6,300 / $7,100 ] The Magic have had a troubling time staying healthy this season, and with both Fournier and Gordon questionable to play, along with Nikola Vucevic out, there’s plenty of opportunity for Jonathan Simmons to capitalize on. If those 2 are ruled out before the slate starts, Simmons is damn near, if not, a lock, who should see a ton of usage and minutes.
Josh Richardson – 11/2/3 [ $6,000 / $6,800 ] With Dion Waiters and James Johnson out, as well as Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside being game time decisions, Josh Richardson sits comfortably against an Orlando team that ranks 26th in team defense, with a 108.2 rating. Richardson has been fantastic in 5 of his last 6 games, putting up 32.7+ FanDuel points, as well as seeing 33+ minutes per game.
Joe Ingles – 10/4/4 [ $5,200 / $4,900 ] Joe Ingles has transformed his game into an all around play style, rather than just a great shooter, which has lead to improvement, but in doing so, he hasn’t been as active in the point production area. The boost in pace should allow Ingles to play more of a run and gun style, while dishing out assists, and rebounding on breaks – definite gpp play, high risk with upside.
• Power Forward
LaMarcus Aldridge – 22/8/1 [ $8,400 / $8,500 ] While Kawhi Leonard is expected to play in tonight’s game versus the Brooklyn Nets, which would spike LaMarcus Aldridge’s usage a bit, there’s no doubt that this is an excellent spot. The Nets sloppy defense, ranking 21st in the league with a 107.1 team defense, and inability to protect the paint, reinforce Aldridge as a strong play, if you have the salary.
Nikola Mirotic – 17/7 [ $6,500 / $6,500 ] Nikola Mirotic has had some big games since returning from incident, however, his fantasy output has been trending downward over his last 2 outings, though he did play fairly well. In the last meeting against the Milwaukee Bucks, Mirotic turned his 29 minutes into 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists, something that is repeatable versus a weak front court.
Serge Ibaka – 14/5/1 [ $6,400 / $5,800 ] I’m a bit hesitant on Serge Ibaka, as his role has only garnered decent points and low to average rebounding, but this contest with the Mavericks is just too good to pass up on. Although Dallas is very good at rebounding, and doesn’t allow many points in the paint, Ibaka should be a matchup problem, with his all around game – with all said, he’s a riskier option.
Andre Drummond – 13/14/1 [ $9,300 / $9,300 ] The Indiana Pacers have given up tremendous fantasy production to opposing big men as of late, and Andre Drummond should be no exception here, being the double double machine that he is. The Pacers are giving up an average of 46.6 points in the paint per game, and rank 29th in defensive rebound percentage, further solidifying Drummond.
Marc Gasol – 18/8/1 [ $8,600 / $8,700 ] Marc Gasol remains a constant on a slowing Grizzlies team, that has been battling injuries and poor play, for the better part of the season. In the last meeting with the Suns, Gasol put up 40.7 FanDuel points, fueled by 13 points, 11 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 5 assists in 37 minutes of action – I’d expect something similar here too, but I do think they’re other options ahead.
DeAndre Jordan – 10/15/1 [ $8,200 / $8,300 ] I love the Clippers tonight, as many other do as well, and I think DeAndre Jordan has incredible upside against a Sacramento front court that has failed to rebound the ball on either front. The defense of the Kings has been almost nonexistent all year and if Jordan sees ample time, he could very well have a high double double night, as he’s very capable of.
Extras: Johnson, Mitchell, DeRozan, Giannis, Gasol.
* Bismack Biyombo is a very solid value play, tonight.
