How’s it going football fans? Welcome back to the weekly NFL picks with DFS analyst, Manick Thind. Every week I will give you the best options to help you make all that sweet, sweet cash. Hit me up on twitter (@BleedPurpleDFS) if you ever want to talk DFS or football. I am not going to be that DFS guy who only picks the obvious expensive players, I will always pick guys who are a great value for the price. For reference, I will using both FanDuel and DraftKings pricing for the players. Now without further ado, lets get into the picks.
*Disclaimer: These picks are only for Sunday’s games.
Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions (FD $7,900/DK $6,400): Stafford has not been anything amazing in his past few games because of an injured hand and ankle. But this week he is going against the Bengals, a team that essentially gave up on the season. This team also means a lot to the Lions and their playoff chances so expect them to come out hard. Stafford can be amazing this week similar to how the Vikings looked against the Bengals last week.
Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams (FD $7,700/DK $6,400): After the Rams blew out the Seahawks last week, I have no problem to pick any of their players each week because I know they are going to preform. This week, Goff is going against the eight worst passing defense in the league in the Titans. But the eye test shows that the Titans secondary is much worst than that but they are in a division with terrible quarterbacks this season. I have full trust in Goff and the rest of the great Rams offense to put up big numbers this week.
Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys (FD $7,600/DK $6,400): Coming off a big and somewhat lucky win last week against the Raiders, Dak and the boys are still alive in the playoff race. They are going against a beat up Seattle defense that was exposed last week and are also much worse on the road. I expect this game to be a shootout but I have more trust in Dak to get points.
Leonard Fournette, Jacksonville Jaguars (FD $8,100/DK $5,400): This is a GREAT price for Fournette who is coming back from injury this week. He is the workhorse of this Jags offense and will get his usual high amount of touches this week. Fournette is also going a 49ers defense that is top 10 in rush yards allowed this season. I expect Fournette to be stellar in his return.
Kenyan Drake, Miami Dolphins (FD $7,100/DK $5,400): Since Jay Ajayi was traded and Damien Williams injury, Drake has been the focal point of the Dolphins offense. Drake has earned over 20 fantasy points in his last three games and against the Chiefs who have been one of the worst defense’s in the league all season (6th worst in rushing yards allowed). This is a solid option if you are not going to pay up at RB.
Dion Lewis, New England Patriots (FD $6,700/DK $5,400): If you want to go a little more cheap this week, Lewis is a great option. With Rex Burkhead expected to be out this week, Lewis should get the majority of touches coming out of the back field. With Bills secondary being solid, the Patriots are more likely to target their 8th worst rushing defense in the league, and we know how the Patriots love to expose vulnerabilities.
Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals (FD $7,500/DK $4,800): I am not in love with any of the expensive wide receivers but I rely on Fitzgerald who has been extremely consistent this season (averaging over 70 receiving yards per game) despite losing his starting QB. The Giants defense seems unmotivated this season and it shows in their awful play. This season the Giants have allowed the second most passing yards this season and are first in passing yards allowed. Even though the Cardinals QB situation is not great, I will bet on Fitzgerald to have another great game.
Robert Woods, Los Angeles Rams (FD $6,600/DK $4,800): Goff received his favourite target last week and awarded him with a touchdown, this week I expect the same and more from Woods in this potential blowout against the Titans. For the same reasons, I said about Goff, I love this stack.
Marvin Jones Jr / Golden Tate (Stack): Another good stack this week one or even both of the Loins WR duo. Whether you choose the more expensive option (Jones) or go cheap (Tate), they both should get a good amount of points against the Bengals. Like I said earlier, the Bengals have given up and the Lions are hungry, this should be an easy one.
Jimmy Graham, Seattle Seahawks (FD $6,800/DK $4,800): Even though I went with Graham last week and he did not perform to say the least, I believe in him again this week. The Dallas secondary has been the weak point of their team all season and Graham is going to be a mismatch that they won’t be able to handle. He is also Russell Wilson’s favourite target in the redzone so expect to get a touchdown or two this week.
Cameron Brate, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (FD $5,100/DK $4,800): With Bucs starting TE O.J Howard put on IR this week, Brate will get the start. He put up solid numbers last season before being replaced in the draft. If you need an extremely cheap TE that will provide good production, Brate is a great option.
Los Angeles Rams (FD $4,600/DK $2,700)
Detroit Lions (FD $4,600/DK $3,000)
I picked both of these defenses for the 3 reasons:
1. Cheap and provide great value.
2. Opportunistic Defenses (Both are top 5 in Takeaways this season)
3. Going against offenses that turnover the ball a lot (Titans and Bengals both are top 10 in Giveaways this season)
Dan Bailey, Dallas Cowboys (FD $4,800)
Robbie Gould, San Francisco 49ers (FD $4,700)
Thank you for reading and best of luck this week!
