NBA Plays of the Day – 12/14

  1. Plays are based on stats, opposition, and pricing.
  2. FanDuel and DraftKings prices listed respectively.
  3. Averaged 17-18 Season stats after player’s names.

• Point Guard

Jeff Teague – 13/7/2 [ $6,500 / $6,400 ] While Jeff Teague has been up and down for the better part of the season, tonight’s matchup with Sacramento is a nice spot for some solid production, as the Kings possess an awful 108.4 team defense. Though this game will have a relatively slow pace, with both teams in the bottom tier in pace, Teague’s all around game provides safety.

Reggie Jackson – 15/5/2 [ $5,700 / $5,800 ] The Pistons may be down, but their meeting with Atlanta could be what gets them back on track and Reggie Jackson’s individual matchup with Dennis Schroder is elite, as he owns a 114.4 defensive rating. Equally, Jackson has nothing to fear against team defense, as the Hawks have a 108.7 defense – ranking 29th in the league.

Frank Ntilikina – 5/3/3 [ $4,300 / $3,800 ] At a very cheap price, on both sites, Frank Ntilikina offers upwards of 20+ minutes, to which he has capitalized on, putting up 21.1+ FanDuel points in his last 3 outings – and is in a major pace up situation, tonight. I like Ntilikina a lot tonight, if you’re looking for value, and he had a rather smooth game against them earlier, with 9/5/2.

• Shooting Guard

Klay Thompson – 20/2/4 [ $7,600 / $6,900 ] With Draymond Green and Steph Curry out, Klay Thompson will be relied on much more to carry the offensive and defensive loads and his matchup versus Dallas should provide him plenty of opportunities. The Mavericks’ inability to defend well, with a 105.6 team defense, should allow Klay to put up solid production if competitive.

Andrew Wiggins – 18/1/4 [ $6,500 / $6,200 ] Like his teammate, Jeff Teague, Andrew Wiggins hasn’t shown consistent production throughout the year, but he does have big game potential – however, this pace down scenario could slow progress. While I don’t expect too much from Wiggins, as you shouldn’t either, this game has great opportunity for him to play well.

Caris LeVert – 11/3/3 [ $6,100 / $5,400 ] The Nets’ injury bug has left Caris LeVert in a sweet spot, as he has seen upwards of 25+ minutes per game in each of his last 9 matches and a definite increase in usage, which he has productively taken advantage of. LeVert’s crafty game and the NY’s average defense, makes him a fine play, who has shown his high ceiling of 54 FanDuel points.

• Small Forward

Kevin Durant – 25/5/6 [ $11,900 / $11,300 ] As mentioned above, Steph Curry and now Draymond Green are sidelined for tonight’s contest with the Mavericks and Kevin Durant has been playing out of his mind over the last 3 games he’s played in. This is one of those no brainer plays, as Durant as been on fire as of late and his matchup with Dallas is another elite matchup.

Jimmy Butler – 19/4/5 [ $9,500 / $8,700 ] Jimmy Butler has been phenomenal in 8 of last 9 outings and gets a Sacramento team that has had difficulty defending almost anyone all season long, in order to continue his currently hot trending game. Like many other Wolves, Jimmy Butler is a solid roster on tonight’s slate, with potential to have a huge outing versus the Kings.

Courtney Lee – 12/2/3 [ $5,300 / $5,500 ] With Tim Hardaway Jr. out, Courtney Lee’s minutes have been, for the most part, stable, while offering solid production and tonight’s inner city battle against Brooklyn allows him to remain a safe play. The pace up game gives Lee more opportunity at scoring production and the Nets’ sloppy play gives way for defensive efforts.

• Power Forward

Kristaps Porzingis – 26/6/2 [ $10,200 / $9,600 ] Over his last 2 matches, Kristaps Porzingis has been fantastic, putting up 55.6 and 66.7 FanDuel points, respectively, and his matchup with the Nets is one he succeeded in before, with 52.8 FanDuel points. With the Nets’ front court now without Trevor Booker, it’ll be a challenge for them to slow Porzingis in and around the paint.

Zach Randolph – 15/6 [ $7,500 / $6,800 ] Zach Randolph has played 31+ minutes in 5 of his last 6 games and in the last game that he only played 27 minutes, he put 17/7 with 5 assists and a steal – something very possible tonight against a weak front court. Though his individual matchup with Taj Gibson isn’t exactly ideal, he should see KAT at times, who is a woeful defender at best.

Taj Gibson – 11/8 [ $5,800 / $5,900 ] Taj Gibson has been a solid pickup for Minnesota and has seen great minutes, with 33+ minutes in his last 11 outings and the Kings rank among the bottom in rebounding and are average at best defending the paint. Like his matchup, Zach Randolph, Taj Gibson has plenty of upside in this one and his high end minutes make him a nice play.

• Center

Andre Drummond – 13/15/1 [ $9,400 / $9,300 ] Although Drummond has been a bust in his last 3 games, tonight’s meeting with Atlanta is a fantastic spot for him to get right, as the Hawks continue to be dismal on the defensive end and with rebounding.

Enes Kanter – 13/10 [ $6,700 / $6,600 ] It has been mentioned that Enes Kanter may not be 100% healthy, as evidenced by his recent play time, but this contest versus with Brooklyn offers fast pace, plenty of boards, and a ton of scoring opportunities.

Willie Cauley-Stein – 10/5/1 [ $6,000 / $5,100 ] Similarly to his teammate, Zach Randolph, Willie Cauley-Stein should have little to no resistance against the lackluster defense of the Timberwolves, even off the bench he should see 25+ minutes in this one.

Extras: Dinwiddie, Caldwell-Pope, James, Bell, Towns.
