• Point Guard
Kemba Walker – 22/6/3 [ $8,700 / $8,200 ] Kemba Walker has been solid as of late, sans last game against Chicago, scoring 20+ points and 5+ assists in his last 3 games, while minimizing turnovers. This matchup offers Walker a big pace up situation, as the Lakers rank 1st in pace with 105.20 possessions per game, which should allow him plenty of chances to hit value.
Dennis Schroder – 20/6/3 [ $8,300 / $7,900 ] Although Elfrid Payton may have more opportunities this game, with many teammates being out, Dennis Schroder has home court and a 30.2% usage. Schroder’s individual matchup with Payton is as good as it gets, with him owning an awful 112.7 defensive rating, to which he put up 46.5 FanDuel points, last game.
Patty Mills – 9/3/2 [ $4,000 / $4,200 ] With as many as 5 Spurs, including Tony Parker, being sidelined for tonight’s game, Patty Mills should see increases to both his usage and play time. Though Mills could still come off the bench, if Murray were to get the start, he is still in play, as he has seen 25+ minutes in his last 3 matches, and the Suns offer pace and weak defense.
• Shooting Guard
Dwyane Wade – 11/3/3 [ $6,100 / $5,600 ] In a game that figures to be rather close, Dwyane Wade gets an easy target at the Sixers front court, who have struggled to defend opposing guards all year. Though Wade has only put up 13.6 and 17.2 FanDuel points in his last 2 respective outings, he was great in the 5 previous games, which included tonight’s matchup, Philly.
Justin Holiday – 14/2/4 [ $5,700 / $5,500 ] Justin Holiday continues to see upwards of 30 minutes and while he’s been consistent throughout most of the season, he also has plenty of big game potential. Holiday’s solid play on top of his thorough minutes, should lead to a productive night versus a skidding Knicks team, who gives up a ton of three point attempts and makes.
Alec Burks – 10/1/2 [ $5,100 / $4,900 ] With Rodney Hood being ruled out, again, Alec Burks should continue to see 25+ minutes and his low price(s) make him a great mid tier play, given his recent performances. Burks’ increased minutes along with his trending play, make him a safe choice and allows you to roster studs elsewhere in your line, with a chance that he goes off.
• Small Forward
LeBron James – 28/8/8 [ $12,000 / $11,600 ] In the first game between the Cavs and Sixers, LeBron James had a per usual solid outing, but lacked in defensive production, with 0 blocks and steals, leading to less fantasy output. With that being said, I wouldn’t expect that again and this game should remain competitive enough for James to have another fantastic night.
Jonathan Simmons – 14/1/3 [ $6,100 / $5,700 ] Jonathan Simmons has played well since being inserted into the starting lineup and with Evan Fournier and Aaron Gordon out, he is in line for a bump in minutes and usage. Atlanta’s 107.8 team defense, ranking 25th, and his recent increase in minutes, makes Simmons a great play – 22.7+ FanDuel points over his 5 outings.
Rudy Gay – 12/1/5 [ $5,500 / $5,800 ] With Kawhi Leonard still out and Kyle Anderson expected to miss 2-3 weeks, Rudy Gay remains a solid option, as he should see the bulk of the small forward minutes. Gay gets a rather easy matchup with TJ Warren, who possesses a woeful 109.5 defensive rating, and tied in with Phoenix’s pace and team defense, he’s in a nice spot.
• Power Forward
Kristaps Porzingis – 25/1/6 [ $9,100 / $8,400 ] While Kristaps Porzingis may not be a relatively safe option, as he’s coming off an injury and he looked off in his first game back, his matchup against Chicago is great. The Bulls rank among the bottom in team defense, with 108.5 defense, and while they are a pretty good rebounding team, Porzingis is almost matchup proof.
LaMarcus Aldridge – 22/8/1 [ $8,200 / $8,400 ] As mentioned above, many Spurs will be out tonight and LaMarcus Aldridge already has a massive usage of 28.8%, further solidifying him as a near lock on tonight’s slate. Although Phoenix is a relatively sound rebounding team, Aldridge has too much going for him and the defensive pressure of the Suns is little to none.
Marvin Williams – 9/4 [ $4,400 / $4,100 ] Frank Kaminsky is out again, tonight, and last game Marvin Williams played 39 total minutes, to which he took advantage of, putting up 34.3 FanDuel points. At his low price, Williams remains in play and tonight’s game versus the Lakers is an ideal spot for a similar, if not repeat performance – he’s just too cheap not to play.
Nikola Vucevic – 16/9/1 [ $8,500 / $8,300 ] Going back to the well here with Nikola Vucevic, as he dominated the Hawks in their last matchup with 55.4 FanDuel points and he has put up 55.4+ FanDuel points in 3 of his last 4 outings. With Gordon ruled out, Vucevic should see even more rebound opportunities and a definite usage increase, to which he greatly benefits from.
Dwight Howard – 15/12/1 [ $7,800 / $7,600 ] Like his teammate, Marvin Williams, Dwight Howard should see increases, with Kaminsky and Zeller being ruled out. Howard’s game looks rejuvenated, as he has been fantastic all season long and had a throwback game in his last outing against Chicago, with a 25/20/6 effort – tonight’s matchup is a similar situation as well.
Clint Capela – 13/11/1 [ $7,300 / $6,300 ] Clint Capela has been consistently good for the Rockets this season and the addition of Chris Paul has only contributed to his growth. On paper, this game looks a bit tougher than it really should be for Capela, tonight, as opposing center Jusuf Nurkic is out, making rebounding and point production a much more welcome sight.
Extras: Payton, Forbes, Ingram, Aminu, Holmes.
