Hey guys sorry I’ve been M.I.A, college got in the way but I’m back this week. I’m locked into the playoffs in 4 of my 5 leagues and my 5th league I could be this week, but enough about me now lets get to helping you guys.
Jay Cutler- I know I know Cutler is bad, but in deep leagues you need a qb and I think he’s your guy this week. This is a “revenge” game for Cutler going against the team that drafted him in Denver for the first time since he left for the bears in 2009. Cutler didn’t play last week because of a concussion but he’s back this week and gets a surprisingly good matchup against the Broncos defense. Broncos are giving up the third least yards per game, but they are allowing the seventh most points per game at 25.5 ppg. This was with all of their “No Fly Zone” starting, but Aqib Talib is suspended and Bradley Roby got torched last week by the Raiders. Cutler has the weapons, Parker, Stills, Landry, and even Thomas (Will mention him more later) to show up in this matchup.
Jordan Howard- Howard underperformed this year based on expectations but has quietly had a solid year yards wise. Howard had 3.9 points last week, but every week he’s been under 10 points he has backed it up with 31.4, 18.6, 15.1, and 18.5 points. If you still need more reason to play him the 49ers have allowed 1,425 rushing yards, which is 129.5 per game, and they are also allowing 82 first downs rushing on the season with 10 rushing TD’s allowed. Howard looks like a top running back this week.
Johnny Holton- NO ONE and I repeat NO ONE will be on this guy other than our team. Holton will be playing this week thanks Crabtree being suspended and Cooper getting hurt. Holton had 53 yards last week against the Broncos and played 68% of the snaps. Coaches said to expect a bigger role from him this week. He already has 2 TD’s from Carr this season, I could see another 1 or 2 this week.
Tyler Lockett- If you’ve ever talked to me you know I’m a big fan of this guy, you need speed to survive in this league and Lockett is a burner. Lockett runs a 4.4 40 time and while the Seattle o-line isn’t good Wilson can still run and extend plays. If the Eagles let Lockett get open he should feast on our defense. John Brown, JJ Nelson, Odel Beckham Jr, and Tyreek Hill have all had good games vs the Eagles this season and that was with the captain of their defense.
Julius Thomas- I told you guys I would bring him up later on. This will Julius’ first career game vs the team that drafted him so this another “Revenge” game. The Broncos have allowed 5 TD to the TE position over the last 6 games. They have also allowed 477 yards to TE’s in that time, and 21 receptions in that time.
Titans Defense- The Titans defense gets a plus matchup this week facing Tom Savage. Yes Deandre Hopkins will torch them, but they should be able to get multiple sacks and multiple picks from Tom Savage. The Titans defense surprisingly is 11th in the league in total yards allowed per game, and 13th in passing yards allowed per game with an average of 234 passing yards allowed. Titans defense has a plus matchup this week.
