NFL DFS: Week 13 Picks
How’s it going football fans?!? Welcome back to the weekly NFL picks with DFS analyst, Manick Thind. Every week I will give you the best options to help you make all that sweet, sweet cash. If you ever need DFS advice or want to talk NFL don’t hesitate to hit up @BleedPurple84 on Twitter. For reference, I will using both FanDuel and DraftKings pricing for the players. Now without further ado, lets get into the picks.
Phillip Rivers, Los Angeles Chargers (FD $8,000/DK $$7,000): Coming off the best game of his career, Rivers is going against the worst team in the league at home. With the Chargers on a hot streak towards the final stretch on the season, I am a believer in this being a playoff football team. The combination of Philip throwing 7 touchdowns in his last three games and the Browns allowing the second most touchdown passes this season among the league, be sure that he is going get a few this Sunday.
Sleeper:Jimmy Garroppolo, San Francisco 49ers (FD $6,300/DK $5,100): There are not many stats that can really give my reasoning for this pick, but I believe in Garroppolo. In his first start for his new team, I expect him to roll on a beat up Bears D that also does not have much film on him. Jimmy G is risky, but for his price he has real upside.
Other Options:Jameis Winston, Josh McCown, Jared Goff
Avoid:Drew Brees, Matthew Stafford
Jordan Howard, Chicago Bears (FD $7,500/DK $6,500): This is a great price for the one of the most underrated RBs in the league. Even though he struggled heavily against the best run defense in the league last week, he should bounce back this week against the Niners who have allowed the 3rd most rushing yards per game this season. Expect Howard to get back into his regular form.
Sleeper: Marshawn Lynch, Oakland Raiders (FD $6,700/DK $4,800): Even though he has not lived up to expectations this season, Lynch could possibly have his best game of the season this Sunday. With the Raiders losing their top two WRs, they should have the plan to pound the ball this game especially since the Giants have allowed the second most yards on the ground this season. It is a no brainer to scoop up Lynch for this great price.
Other Options:Saints stack (Kamara/Ingram), Carlos Hyde, Duke Johnson Jr.
Avoid:LeSean McCoy, Kareem Hunt
Adam Thielen, Minnesota Vikings (FD $7,800/DK $7,500): Can we PLEASE stop sleeping on the most consistent WR in the NFL this season? Thielen had another great game against the Lions on thanksgiving and continuing his streak of at least 5 catches in every game this season. With the Vikings offense firing on all cylinders recently, expect big numbers from him again. His price might be a little high but for his consistency of big numbers but he will be worth it.
Jarvis Landry, Miami Dolphins (FD $6,900/DK $5,900): People like to stay away from WRs that have Jay Cutler throwing to them and rightfully so. But this week is different, Cutler is back in Denver and I expect him to be somewhat competent. Landry has a nose for the endzone this season with 6 touchdowns in his last eight games and surprisingly the great Broncos D have allowed the most passing touchdowns this season and don’t have their star CB Aqib Talib this week. For a solid price, he could surprise DFS owners.
Sleeper: Zay Jones, Buffalo Bills (FD $4,500/DK $4,600): Major sleeper alert! With Kelvin Benjamin and Jordan Matthews out, Rookie Zay Jones will be a top WR for the Bills this week. Now that Tyrod Taylor is back to starting, this team is looking for a playoff run and could get into a shootout with the rival Patriots. With the Patriots allowing the second most passing yards per game, expect Jones to make a couple big plays. With his low price, there is a lot of potential here.
Other Options:Mike Evans, Cooper Kupp, Robby Andersen
Avoid: Keenan Allen, Brandin Cooks
Jared Cook, Oakland Raiders (FD $5,500/DK $5,400): Even though Cook is cheap this week, he will be high owned because of his opportunity and matchup. Like Lynch, Cook will get a lot of touches this week due to injuries and will be Derek Carr’s number one passing target. Also the Giants have allowed the most fantasy points to tight ends this season so expect Cook to burn through their defense this week.
Sleeper: Hunter Henry, Los Angeles Chargers (FD $5,400/DK $4,700): Even though he is only $100 less on FanDuel than my main pick, not a lot of people are talking about Henry after his great performance against Dallas last week. He has become a big redzone since Gates is now washed up. Pair him up with Rivers in your lineup and you have great fantasy potential this week.
Other Options:Delanie Walker, Kyle Rudolph
Avoid: Zach Ertz, Evan Engram
Jacksonville Jaguars (FD $5,600/DK $4,500)
Los Angeles Rams (FD $5,000/DK $3,600)
Miami Dolphins (FD $4,500/DK $2,900)
New York Jets (FD $4,400/DK $2,500)
Avoid: Los Angeles Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Bears
Matt Prater (FD $5,000)
Justin Tucker (FD $5,100)
Kai Forbath (FD $4,700)
Robbie Gould (FD $4,500)
Thank you for reading and best of luck this week!
