NHL DFS (11/16)

Hey all you DFS players, have you been wanting to learn all about the fastest growing DFS sport? Well, look no further. This article is here to help just about anybody who plays DFS. Each main slate, I, Armaan Kaler (@DFSManu) will be providing the best NHL plays of the night in a user-friendly format. This article will include both my top cash game plays and favourite GPP stacks. We will be using FanDuel pricing as reference. Now that we got all of that out of the way, I think we should get into the picks.

Bo Horvat (C) $5,800

Horvat is playing at home tonight against one of the worst defensive teams in the league, the Vegas Golden Knights. Vegas boasts an ugly 2.78 xGA/60 on the road, while also allowing the most FDP/gm to the Centre position. The all-star has 9 points in 9 home games this season, and is centring Vancouver’s top scoring line alongside Sven Baertschi and Brock Boeser. This line will undoubtedly be very popular, but for cash games biting the chalk and moving on is most definitely your best option.

Mitchell Marner (W) $5,000

I was actually going to write up another player here, but I came to realize that I do not want to post 3 (potential) chalk plays in my cash game column. That being said, Mitch Marner is my second cash game lock of the night, facing up against a lackluster Devils defense, sporting a 3rd worst xGA/60 on the road. Both New Jersey and Toronto play at a very high pace, making this game of the best to target as there will be chances both ways. Insert Mitchell Marner. Marner started slow, but has picked it up recently with 7 points in his last 5 games. Playing at home, where he strives, coming at a discount price? Count me in.

Brent Burns (D) $6,900

I know… I know.. Burns is having a disappointing season to say the least. But, and its a big but, I think that tonight is finally the night that he breaks out and shows the world he isn’t broken. I mean for goodness sake, the guy has taken 73 shots and still hasn’t found twine, what more could he do?! His opponent, the Panthers, will undoubtedly try their best to stop the world class defender, but their efforts will be for naught as Burns will (most likely) bury his first goal of the season tonight. A power play specialist, Brent will come up against a Cats penalty kill that is 2nd worst in all of the league, while allowing the most shots/game to defenders. If not tonight, then never.
