Tonight, we have an interesting 2 game slate, so things will be formatted a little differently. Instead of my top plays from each position, I will give 3 top plays, 3 value plays, and lastly, my 3 favorite plays. Alright, let’s get into some plays!
- Plays are based on stats, opposition, and pricing.
- FanDuel and DraftKings prices listed respectively.
- Averaged 17-18 Season stats after player’s names.
• Top Plays:
Kyrie Irving – 20/5/3 [ $8,300 / $8,100 ] With the Boston Celtics rolling, currently on a 13 game winning streak, it’s hard not to play the best player on a team that faces off against a juggernaut such as Golden State. Kyrie Irving will be given a tough task, both offensively and defensively, however, his career success in previous meetings with the Warriors is too much to overlook.
James Harden – 30/10/4 [ $12,500 / $12,700 ] Now that Chris Paul is back from his lingering knee injury, James Harden will undoubtedly take a bit of a hit, but his recent play has been very encouraging. Harden will either see Devin Booker or TJ Warren tonight, likely the former and if so, things could get out of hand very quickly, as Booker has an awful defensive rating of 106.8.
Kevin Durant – 24/5/7 [ $10,500 / $9,700 ] DFS wise, Kevin Durant hasn’t had one of those monster games that we know he is capable of having, to this point in the season. Tonight’s matchup with Boston is a rough one, as they possess the best defense in the league and own an impressive 95.8 team defense rating, but no one on this Celtics team can check Durant, if anyone in the league can at all.
• Value Plays:
Tyler Ulis – Though Tyler Ulis comes off the bench, with Mikes James starting, he has been seeing more minutes and playing better overall than James, over the last couple of outings. At just $4,000 on FanDuel and $4,200 on DraftKings, Ulis offers big game potential, if in fact this game turns into a blowout, as the Rockets are favored by 12 points.
Luc Mbah a Moute – In a similar situation to Ulis, Luc Mbah a Moute comes off the bench and has given the Rockets great minutes this season, on both sides of the court. His cheap price(s) at $3,900 on FanDuel and a mere $3,400 on DraftKings make Mbah a Moute a great value play in a potential blowout game, as the Suns play at a near reckless pace.
Alex Len – With Tyson Chandler out due to an illness, Alex Len could be positioned into the starting role, that is if the newly acquired Greg Monroe doesn’t take his place. Either way, Len is a very cheap option, priced at $4,800 on FanDuel and even lower on DraftKings, with a price tag of $4,400 – oh, and last time he started he had over 40 fantasy points.
• Favorite Plays:
Steph Curry – 25/6/4 [ $9,700 / $8,700 ] While Steph Curry missed his last game and is coming off an injury, his matchup with Kyrie Irving always lives up to the hype and this game should be rather competitive. Curry’s price still isn’t high enough, though that is understood, and Kyrie isn’t the best defender in the league, despite his strong defensive start to the season.
Eric Gordon – 22/3/2 [ $6,100 / $6,200 ] Similarly to his teammate, James Harden, Eric Gordon will definitely take a hit in usage and minutes with Chris Paul back, however, he wasn’t Sixth Man of the Year for nothing last year. Gordon will see a terrible defensive team in the Suns, who don’t get much better on the bench, and could easily go off, tonight.
Marcus Smart – 9/5/4 [ $5,800 / $5,500 ] Coming off the bench is no issue for Marcus Smart, as he actually thrives there and still sees good time and usage when playing with the starters. This game will probably take a defensive minded role, with both teams ranked among the top 6 in defense, but don’t underestimate Smart’s ability to produce at the offensive end as well.
Extras: Booker, Brown, Tatum, Ariza, Capela, Horford.
