• Point Guard
Russell Westbrook – 19/10/8 [ $10,800 / $11,000 ] Russell Westbrook has managed to keep up triple double like numbers, despite the additions of his new teammates Paul George and Carmelo Anthony. Tonight, Westbrook gets a nice matchup with the Dallas Mavericks, who rank in the bottom 3 in defense, with a 108.9 team defense rating.
Dennis Smith Jr. – 14/5/3 [ $5,900 / $5,500 ] Dennis Smith Jr. has been one of the most electrifying players this season and showed off his abilities last night against the Cavs, with a stat line of 21/7/5 along with 2 blocks and 2 steals. Despite OKC’s rocky 5-7 start, they are the second best defensive team in the league, but Smith’s explosiveness gives him an edge.
• Shooting Guard
James Harden – 30/9/4 [ $11,800 / $11,900 ] James has put up at least 35ppg and 8 assists in each of his last 3 outings and has really turned on the jets after a “slow” start to the season. Harden will either see Collison or Oladipo in this matchup, but I think we all know by now that there is just about no one who can stop this man on the court.
Victor Oladipo – 23/3/4 [ $7,600 / $7,700 ] Victor Oladipo has been very impressive this season, accumulating nearly 300 total points and looks poised for his best season in his career. Oladipo is in a nice position against the Rockets and should his shot continue to fall like it has, Houston could be in for a long game.
• Small Forward
Paul George – 21/2/5 [ $8,800 / $7,900 ] Paul George has had a roller coaster kind of start to the season, at times looking like the superstar we know him to be, but sometimes appearing lost and out of it. The Mavericks have been just as bad if not worse at home this season and they have a tough task in guarding George, tonight
Trevor Ariza – 9/2/4 [ $5,700 / $5,100 ] Trevor Ariza may not be a star in the NBA, however, for DFS purposes he is about as consistent as it comes, possessing a floor of 20 fantasy points, to which he has met all but a few times. The Indiana Pacers and Bojan Bogdanovic, specifically, struggle against opposing forwards, in comes Ariza.
• Power Forward
Carmelo Anthony – 20/5/1 [ $6,900 / $6,700 ] Carmelo Anthony has been consistent for the Thunder, giving them good minutes and a luxury that they didn’t have last season – the ability to spread the floor. As mentioned above, repeatedly, Dallas struggles in all areas defensively and Dirk will definitely have a trouble with Anthony here.
Thaddeus Young – 14/6 [ $6,300 / $6,100 ] Thaddeus Young is playing fairly well this season, scoring in double digits in 9 consecutive games and shooting 50% from the field as well as 38% from three. Young has a nice matchup in a pace up situation against Anderson and the Rockets and could easily bully him down low with his size.
Myles Turner – 14/9/2 [ $7,900 / $6,900 ] Myles Turner has missed quite a bit of games this season with a concussion, but when on the court he has been dominant on the defensive end and has 14 blocks in 6 matches. This game should be filled rebounds and blocks, giving Turner a solid opportunity to capitalize in his matchup with Capela.
Clint Capela – 12/11/1 [ $6,900 / $6,600 ] Clint Capela is making waves this year, averaging a double double along with some huge games already, to which he has helped the Rockets obtain a record of 10-3. At a $1,000 price drop on FanDuel, Capela has faces a similar scenario and has been rather consistent as of late.
