NFL Week 6 Start/Sit

NFL StartsSitsHey guys had sometime off for college and my birthday, but I’m back. I know Cowboys have a bye week this week, but my favorite running back to own in that backfield is Alfred Morris. Two weeks ago Morris had a 70 yard run almost for a TD, and he’s been the backup all season instead of McFadden. Now onto the players who actually play this week.

QB:

Starts:

Brian Hoyer: Okay so Brian Hoyer is my favorite waiver wire QB to have a huge game this week. This is a Redskins secondary without Su’a Cravens and DeAngelo Hall all season, and now last game lost Josh Norman for the next 2-4 weeks, and has Deshazor Everett questionable to play after leaving last game. Hoyer has a 59.3% completion percentage and 1211 yards passing this season. However he only has 4 touchdowns and 4 interceptions on the season. This secondary is definitely one for Hoyer to attack. Out of his 1211 yards he has 913 of them over the last 3 weeks, and has thrown for over 320 yards 2 of the last 3 weeks. You also have the Pierre Garcon revenge game the week after he got 8 catches on 11 targets, so I think I’m gonna be all in on Hoyer as a pickup this week.

Notes: Also like Phillip Rivers and Kevin Hogan. Rivers is getting Mike Williams back this week, when the Chargers drafted Williams I said he makes Rivers a top 5 fantasy qb this year, now we finally get to see it. Hogan is someone no one else will probably tell you to play, but I am. Houston secondary has “looked” good this year, but just like last season that’s because of their pass rush. Last week they lost Whitney Mercillus and JJ Watt to season ending injuries. All the Texans really have now for a rush is Clowney, and Browns have a very good o-line. I expect Hogan to have all day for his receivers to get open.

RB:

Javorius “Buck” Allen- Buck Allen is looking like the lead back in the crowded Ravens backfield for the second year in a row. Terrance West went down with an injury so now its the Allen/Collins show, while Collins has looked good I think Allen is the back to own and start this week especially in ppr. On the season he has 232 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown to go along with 20 catches on 24 targets for 97 yards and 1 receiving touchdown. We just saw Jerrick Mckinnon have 95 yards rushing with 1 rushing touchdown to go along with 6 catches for 51 yards against this Bears defense. The Bears still have star middle linebacker Danny Trevethan suspended for this week, and just lost his backup to injury so this week they will be on their third string middle linebacker. Allen so should feast.

WR:

Kenny Stills: So it’s looking like Devante Parker is out this week. Which most assume means Jarvis Landry gets all the targets, but I think Kenny Stills will be the one getting the targets. Kenny Stills has played in over 86% of snaps in every game and has 9 deep targets. Parker has 11. Landry has 2. This tells me that he should improve this week on his 10 catches for 114 yards and 1 Touchdown this season.

TE:

So this is where it gets tricky. So many tight ends in good spots; Kittle, Griffin, Zach Miller, and a few other lesser known ones but the TE I want is in the 8:30 PM Game on Sunday (Hint its not Evan Engram).

AJ Derby/Virgil Green: According to yahoo fantasy sports the Giants have allowed the most points this season to TE’s in ppr leagues and non-ppr leagues. In non ppr leagues they are averaging 13.62 points a week to the TE position. The Giants defense has also allowed a TD to the TE position every week. Only issue here is not sure who the starter is, so if you need a TE this week, check online or wherever you can and find out which one is starting. If you can’t find it go with Green. Plus the Broncos are getting rookie TE Jake Butt back from injury soon so Green might have some extra motivation knowing he might be playing for his job.

Defense:

Bears: Now this may sound crazy because I just had talked about Buck Allen being my favorite RB, but I think he is the only one to do the scoring. Joe Flacco has thrown for 823 yards with 4 touchdowns and 6 interceptions this season. I watched the London game and he looks like he’s not fully recovered from his offseason injury. Jeremy Maclin and Breshad Perriman are questionable to play so that takes away two big weapons from Flacco to throw to. Flacco has already been sacked 9 times this season and the Bears come into this matchup with 13 sacks on the season. Leonard Floyd has 3 sacks, Akiem Hicks has 4 sacks, and Pernell McPhee and Willie Young both have 2 sacks. This is looking like a great spot for this young defense to show everyone what I’ve been saying for years… Joe Flacco is not an elite qb.

Notes:

So instead of listing out sits like always do I’m trying something new and just listing a few down here.

  1. Personally I am not a fan of anyone on the Giants offense, but if I had to start one it would be Shane Vereen, I’m expecting Eli to have to check down a lot to avoid getting sacked.
  2. I’m not a fan of Jamies Winston this week. Cards defense has looked bad, but they are improving week by week, and I think this is the week they return to form.
  3. Jenoris Jenkins has looked good this season, but Landon Collins is questionable, and with Eli Apple getting torched by Emanuel Sanders they might put more pressure on Sanders and that helps DT a lot.
  4. I am sitting Derek Carr this week. Hard to come back from a 2-6 week back injury after only 1 week, and his o-line just hasn’t been on top of their game this season. Bosa and Ingram are both monsters rushing the QB and could be in for a big day.
  5. I’m free the rest of the weekend to take any questions you guys have. You can comment on this post, tweet at me, or DM me your questions. Once again my twitter handle is @mbsports_guru
