NBA Plays of the Day – 10/11

Tonight, we have another 5 game slate, with some very nice matchups. Let’s take a look at today’s plays!

  1. Plays are based on stats, opposition, and pricing.
  2. FanDuel and DraftKings prices listed respectively.
  • Point Guard(s):

Damian Lillard [ $8,800 / $8,100 ] – Damian Lillard looks like a man on a mission this preseason, as evidenced by some scoring outbursts of 18 in 15 and 35 in 26. Phoenix is known to give up a ton of points, especially to opposing guards.

Kyrie Irving [ $8,200 / $8,200 ] – The Celtics are without a doubt Kyrie Irving’s team from here on out. Irving has been very impressive so far this preseason and could definitely take advantage of his matchup, Kemba Walker.

Tyler Johnson [ $4,500 / $5,000 ] – With Goran Dragic resting again tonight, Tyler Johnson is in line for some more big minutes. This preseason, Johnson has shown he can score in a hurry with 18 in 22 against Charlotte and 21 in 23 against Brooklyn.

  • Shooting Guard(s):

James Harden [ $11,000 / $10,400 ] – Everytime time James Harden steps on the court he has the potential to drop a triple double. Harden gets a Grizzlies team, post Tony Allen, and has accumulated 61 points, 31 assists and 17 boards in three games.

D’Angelo Russell [ $6,600 / $7,500 ] – D’Angelo Russell is quickly proving that he can lead his own team, with the Nets. DLoading is the number one scoring option for Brooklyn and played well in two games versus the Knicks this preseason.

Malik Monk [ $3,800 / $5,200 ] – Jeremy Lamb is out tonight and Friday due to a groin injury and MKG is away from the team; this opens up plenty of bench minutes for Monk. Against the Heat, he shot 22 times and scored 19 points in 35 minutes.

  • Small Forward(s):

Robert Covington [ $6,400 / $5,100 ] – Though one of the game’s more complete players, Robert Covington often goes under the radar. Covington is fairly cheap and can go off in a fast paced game against a defensively weak Brooklyn Nets team.

Otto Porter Jr. [ $5,800 / $5,000 ] – Last season, Otto Porter Jr. emerged as one of the league’s best three point shooters and really made an impact for the Wizards. Porter is a high scoring threat most nights, with Wall and Beal as the main attractions.

Maurice Harkless [ $4,700 / $4,200 ] – If any of the Blazer’s starters rest tonight, which is very possible, Maurice Harkless should have a field day. Harkless has played 22+ minutes in three of his four games and has shot very well at 58%.

  • Power Forward(s):

Ben Simmons [ $5,600 / $7,300 ] – Markelle Fultz is out tonight, so ball handling will more than likely heavily rely on Ben Simmons. In his three preseason games, Simmons has consistently put up good numbers all over the stat sheet.

James Johnson [ $5,500 / $4,600 ] – The Washington Wizards are known for giving up a ton of production to opposing big men and with Morris out things don’t look to be changing. Johnson has emerged as a go to guy for Miami and should eat here.

Caleb Swanigan [ $3,000 / $4,700 ] – Jusuf Nurkic is out for the time being with a concussion suffered last game. This allows Swanigan to see more action, who is more than capable of having a double double type night.

  • Center:

Hassan Whiteside [ $9,200 / $8,500 ] – As one of the league’s most dominant centers, Whiteside should have his way with the Wizards tonight. This preseason, he has been extremely efficient having put up a double double in two of his four games.

Joel Embiid [ $7,500 / $7,400 ] – Joel Embiid is by far one of the most interesting players in the entire league. Over his career Embiid has only played in 31, all of which were last year, but has proven to be worth the money with averages of 20/7/2.

Alex Len [ $3,500 / $5,700 ] – Opposing big man Nurkic is out tonight, which should ease the difficulty for Len in the paint. In three preseason games, he has shot a minimum of 70% from the field and played 30+ minutes in two outings.

Extras: Wall, Booker, Bacon, Olynyk, Gasol.
