NBA Plays of the Day – 10/4

Last night was a nice 5 game slate and tonight 4, which means we’re officially rolling. With preseason scores starting to pick up, last night being over 300 for most gpps, you might have to eat the chalk to cash. Let’s take a look at these plays of the day!

  1. Plays are based on stats, opposition, and pricing.
  2. FanDuel and DraftKings prices listed respectively.
  • Point Guard(s):

Ish Smith [ $2,400 / $4,500 ] – With Reggie Jackson out for the Pistons tonight, Ish Smith will slide up and start. Smith had some big games when filling in last year and seems to really orchestrate this offense well.

Markelle Fultz [ $1,600 / $6,200 ] – As the 1st overall pick of the draft, the Sixers have high hopes for their rookie, Markelle Fultz. In the Summer League, he averaged 20/3/3 on 46% shooting from the field across 24 minutes per game.

Kris Dunn [ $1,200 / $5,500 ] – In 22 minutes last night, Kris Dunn put up 11/3/1 on 62% shooting. While it’s not likely that he will match that, Dunn will get good minutes and has a knack for being in the right spots.

  • Shooting Guard(s):

Nicolas Batum [ $3,200 / $5,800 ] – Against Boston, Batum did pretty much as expected for the preseason, scoring 10 points and 2 assists in 23 minutes. Tonight he’s in a similar situation, if not much more, he almost guarantees decent production.

Victor Oladipo [ $2,900 / $5,900 ] – Now on the Indiana Pacers, Victor Oladipo will have a lot responsibilities as a leader of the team. Last year Oladipo had a 21.3% usage rating over 67 games and averaged 15/2/4 while shooting 36% from three.

Jordan Clarkson [ $1,800 / $4,800 ] – Through two preseason games, Jordan Clarkson has played alright, but not consistent. If Lonzo Ball is out tonight for the Lakers, Clarkson should see good minutes and put up more than just alright numbers.

  • Small Forward(s):

Jeremy Lamb [ $1,600 / $5,000 ] – Two days ago, against the Celtics, Jeremy Lamb had a very impressive game for the Hornets. With a stat line of 17/3/8 across 23 minutes, Lamb looks to be an appealing play once again against the Detroit Pistons.

Ben Simmons [ $1,600 / $6,700 ] – Last year, Simmons’ season was over before it even started, as he fractured his foot in practice. One thing we do know about him is that he is a great passer and ball handler, likely to play a LeBron type role for the 76ers.

Juancho Hernangómez [ $1,000 / $4,600 ] – In a fast pace game and open minutes, Juancho Hernangómez is in a great situation. Hernangómez had 11/6 against the Lakers in their last meeting.

  • Power Forward(s):

Giannis Antetokounmpo [ $6,600 / $9,300 ] – “The Greek Freak” is a player that is unlike any other. Last season he led his team in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks, giving us just a taste of what is to come over his career – he’s only 22 years old.

Richaun Holmes [ $2,900 / $4,000 ] – No Joel Embiid and a limited Jahlil Okafor means more court time for Richaun Holmes. In 57 games last season, Holmes averaged 10/6 and even developed a pretty good three point shot of 35% on 77 attempts.

Kyle Kuzma [ $1,000 / $5,600 ] – Over his first two preseason games, Kyle Kuzma has played just as good as you could possibly play. Averaging 21ppg, 62% shooting from the field, and 38% from three; you gotta roster this guy in some lines tonight.

  • Center:

Mason Plumlee [ $2,200 / $5,000 ] – With Nikola Jokic out due to a right elbow strain and Paul Millsap resting, Mason Plumlee becomes the clear beneficiary. In his first preseason matchup against the Lakers, he put up 7/5 in 17 minutes off the bench.

Ivica Zubac [ $1,100 / $4,700 ] – Although Zubac has been somewhat struggling, he has seen decent playtime with Brook Lopez out. Along with Lopez out tonight, again, Jokic is also out for Denver, which should ease things up a bit for for him.

Boban Marjanovic [ $1,000 / $4,900 ] – Though not much more news of Andre Drummond’s injury has developed, he is still noted as a game time decision for tonight. Either way, Boban should see ample time and is a mismatch for any opponent at 7’3″.

* Ball and Ingram = GTD at time of writing.

Extras: Murray, Wade, Holiday, Randle, Love.
